Crappy customer support
I really liked this new style of trimmer. Worked well, the light was extremely helpful. I bought it in Jan 2025 and only used it a few times. By July of 2025 it no longer worked, wouldn’t turn on or charge. I looked through all the troubleshooting but nothing, it still didn’t work. I contacted Manscaped support about the issue and explained the situation, they essentially brushed me off with the same troubleshooting advice I had already attempted. I told them that and they never responded. I sent a follow-up email to that, still no response. I will never purchase another product from Manscape. They do not value their customers!!UPDATE: Cust service reached back out after the review and sent a new trimmer under the warranty.

My husband upgraded from the 3 to the 5 and he is so impressed. The 3 was great and lasted for 5 years! So we can only hope the 5 lasts as long. Low noise, the size is comfortable and of course itâs easy to use out of the box.

A couple months ago, I purchased the 5.0 ultra because Iâve loved previous versions of the Lawn Mower. My first 5.0 was atrocious. It would only cut in one direction, and took my wife double to triple the time to shave my back and chest because of this issue. We tried 3 times to see if it was us, but realized quickly it was the machine. We contacted Manscape and explained the issue. Within 2 weeks from the first email sent, we had a new Lawn Mower 5.0. I was definitely nervous thinking it was a normally for the new product to be worse than the previous ones, but I was pleased to find out it that wasnât the case. My new Lawn Mower was amazing, gliding over my skin with ease taking every unwanted hair with it. Thank you for the AMAZING customer service and yet again another fantastic product. I will be a lifelong member!!

It died, I cannot recommend
I bought this 9 months ago (November 2024), and it died last month. It lasted about 8 months. It will turn on and run for a couple seconds, then turn off and give a low battery flash. I know it was cheap, less than $100, but I expected it to run for at least a year. Iâve seen really cheap $20-$40 trimmers from the local pharmacy aisle run for years. So I cannot recommend it.It has a steel razor with an oscillating plastic piece (the part that is driven by the motor). Iâm not sure why they both arenât steel, maybe itâs a cost thing. It will pinch/catch facial hair when trimming, Iâve noticed that every time Iâve used it on my face. I will admit that it doesnât seem to catch or cut skin on non-face areas of the body, which is nice and rare (and perhaps why it has the plastic piece), but the fact that it died so fast makes it not worth it. I really did like it for that kind of grooming, but Iâd rather pay a couple hundred dollars for a good electric razor or trimmer that lasts for many years.I just canât recommend given itâs lifespan and poor facial trimming quality. I gave it two stars because it worked well enough for what I needed, and I feel one star is too low, but it was a close call. If you get a unit that doesnât die, itâs probably a 3 or 4.

I did a ton of research before settling on the latest manscaped trimmer. I was surprised to see all the nay sayers online and on YouTube in the reviews on it but when I researched the products they were promoting all I ever saw was smaller price tags and more attachments.Personally I think they might just be getting paid to knock manscaped since they’re sponsored by other brands and likely can’t get in on the manscaped marketing budget that used to be quite huge for how artificially popular it was before.In exchange for these smaller price tags and more attachments it seems like you’d be giving up the built in light that helps you spot stray hairs. Type C charging in some cases, battery life in most cases and durability occasionally.Ill admit the light was a pretty big selling point for me and I like being able to use type C chargers for everything since they’ve been mandated for all phones in the UK. So they’re only going to get more popular over time and that kinda future proofs this one.I got the manscape 3.0 about 5 years back when they didn’t have a type C charger variant. After so many years my battery started to have a harder time holding a charge and although I’m big on repairing things I figured with all the improvements they’ve been making it’s worth giving the new thing a try. $100 for 5 years ends up being about $1.67/mth which really isn’t that bad. The old trimmer still works and it does cut faster than this new super safe version of the 5.0 but I really enjoy having a brighter light, a stronger battery and the multiple attachments. Specifically the foil attachment that mimics a tight razor shave quite well.I think if I could I might have opted for the 3.0 new version with the type C charger just because I’m not a huge fan of the safety on this 5.0 but the case is novel and I like the squared edges on the handle making it less prone to rolling and slightly easier to handle.There’s my honest take on it.The 3.0 is probably better if you just want a quick trim once in a while. The 5.0 is more versatile over all and has a nicer feel.
