Wow, I had no idea that the price had gone up so much since 2008, when I bought my mouse. Judging from the pictures, It seems that there aren’t many differences, but I’m surprised at the price. With that out of the way, I’ve had my G5 since 2008, and I still love it. I was expecting black/orange when I purchased it, but now I see that black/blue is the only option, so I must have messed up my order. However, this mouse has been extremely reliable for me. I’ve used it so much that the bottom is actually starting to wear out a bit from me having a bad mousepad and my extremely frequent use. The lettering of ‘Gaming Grade Laser’ has worn off, along with the max DPI lettering, and there seems to be a circle appearing around the laser diode. At best, I would say that this mouse will last me another five years, and that’s IF I don’t get a new one. The side-scrolling isn’t very useful, but it doesn’t hurt to have it, especially when there’s something that requires side-scrolling. I don’t know anybody who prefers to use the scroll bars on the sides and bottoms of webpages. The On-The-Fly DPI change buttons are out of the way, yet still accessible enough for me on those rare occasions that I turn the DPI down from max. The braided cord feels strong and resilient, but you should definitely have some slack on your cord or take some time to get used to it, as it is a tad stiff. I like the option for the weight cartridge, as it allows me to get my mouse to a weight that works nicely for me(maxed out weight), and keep a good amount of overall control. The overall shape of the mouse fits my gorilla-hand nicely, as well. I don’t use the side buttons much, but they’re out of the way, which I think is a good thing, because I don’t want to hit one by accident. They make nice Ventrilo/Teamspeak PTT keys, as well. The only thing I dislike about the side buttons is the fact that they are also Windows’s browser-pare-back and browser-page-forward, however, that isn’t the mouse’s fault.Nothing much else to say, really. Awesome mouse, if you ever decide to get it.

Great mouse on a terrible cord!
I love this mouse, the weights are great, the laser is smooth on all surfaces, the hand contouring is excellent. But it is attached to the computer with the most bizarre cord. The cord is thin plastic covered with some sort of material. The cord is stiff and does not move well. It also gets serious kinks with plastic pinched and protruding through the fabric. We own two of these mice, and both had kinks within a few weeks of purchase. My son’s is so bad that we are replacing the mouse after 2 months of use. Despite trying to straighten the kinks and support it with electrical tape, the mouse is acting flaky already. I am not as hard on a mouse, but mine has developed a couple of major kinks. Plus I hate the stiffness of the cord, I always seem to be trying to wrestle it into place. I supposed I will need to replace my mouse soon as well. These mice are too expensive to replace after a few months use!!Its a shame that Logitec decided to go with this odd-ball cord on this great mouse. In my opinion, the poor cord has ruined this fine mouse.

GREAT gaming mouse!
I really love this mouse. It has many good attributes: 1) the size of it fits the hand very well, 2) the weights that you can add or take out let you configure it to be heavy or not (depending on how you like it), 3) it has 3 speeds for tracking which are VERY handy, 4) the 2 thumb buttons are just an absolute great idea and have come in very handy for certain games, 5) the fact the mousewheel itself has TWO EXTRA positions (it can be clicked to the left or right!) is absolutely AWESOME if you’re into MMO’s, and 6) the fact that almost all the buttons are CONFIGURABLE with macros to do just exactly what you want is probably by far the best part about it.It’s also VERY durable (I’ve accidentally bumped it off my desk a few times now) and the cord is, also (the cord has a special material that encompasses it and where once when I knocked it off my desk, it scraped what was a sharp edge and took ZERO DAMAGE)! I also love the fact that it HAS a cord and is not cordless (for those that don’t like having to replace batteries at the most inopportune times).Overall it’s hands down THE BEST gaming mouse I’ve ever owned. PERIOD.

The Cord is a Major Flaw!!!
Check out some of the other one or two star reviews on this mouse. They mention a cord issue. There is a general theme to all of these complaints including mine… The cord is flawed. The cord is covered in a stiff braided fabric type material. It looks nice. It makes the cord look sturdy and strong when you first buy this mouse. The reality is that the fancy braiding ends up kinking and tightening up on the cord. It ends up fraying and then eventually the cord shorts out. It just happened on my mouse after 6 months. I have a laptop and I travel with it quite often. This cord cannot stand up to being moved or folded up for travel for any length of time. I imagine if you park this thing on your desktop, it would last longer. Unfortunately considering how much this thing costs, there is no excuse for this type of failure. Logitech could care less about this flaw, so once it fails you’re on you’re own. Buyer beware!

Best mouse I’ve owned. I’ve used this model for years until recently it died. I had a hard time finding a replacement for under $100. I was very excited to find this one for .99 cents!

Super Produkt!
