Does what it says it can do and more
I would give it 10 stars. I bought a similar one off of xxbook and did not work for my LVT. The rubber part said for glass. It would not suction itself to the tile. Did not give any notifications of need to be used on smooth lvt. Well this one from amazon worked right out of the box Without use of the optional sticky pads to be use for rougher surfaces. Mine is not real ruff but not smooth as glass. Money well spent. Great engineering for the product. Buy it without reservations.

A good tool to have on hand when installing plank flooring
I consider this NAACOO Heavy Duty Floor Gap Fixer Tool + Rubber Mallet to be good DIY insurance for properly installing interlocking plank flooring. This fall we will be installing several hundred vinyl laminate flooring planks as part of my house renovations. Each plank has to be properly aligned to the walls and joined tightly to adjacent planks, so there will literally be hundreds of opportunities for mistakes that can be quite difficult to fix once the planks are firmly interlocked. This little tool set makes correcting those mistakes a Whole Lot Easier and much quicker. Thus the relatively small price of this too set is well worth it in my opinion.I did a small test using several left over planks from the flooring we installed last year in our basement, and found these tools to be adequate for making the small adjustments needed to keep everything perfectly aligned for well installed DIY flooring that looks very professional. The iron based “Gap Fixer” is a bit heavy, but that also means it should last a reasonably long time (enough for several floor installations). The weighted hammer appears to be adequate for adjusting tightly fitted flooring planks.If you find small gaps in your flooring, just attach the suction cup to the adjacent plank (with or with our the “sticky pads”) and tap the “Gap Fixer” with the supplied mallet to close the gap. Note that this may open another gap with the following plank, and so on. Thus, it is definitely worthwhile to take a second or two to visually make sure that each new plank is tightly joined before installing the next plank. However, If you do find a gap after several additional planks have been installed, I found that you can tap “ahead” a couple of planks – if you are careful.This tool kit appears to be adequate for doing several plank floor installations, and thus well worth the cost. When I ordered it the price was somewhat higher, so I consider the current discounted price of $23 to be well worth while.

Suction is not sufficient
This tool did not work! I couldnât get it to suction to my floor so I used the pad provided. It would suction to it but the second I used the mallet it came off. The hold was not strong enough to do any good.

Innovative floor repair tool
It just so happens that I am installing vinyl plank flooring in my house right now, and I had a couple trouble areas where tapping one part of the floor would open a gap in another part. So when I got the opportunity to review this item, I jumped at the chance.When it arrived, I took it to a little gap I had in the floor to give it a try. First, I tried to stick the suction cup directly to the floor. But the planks have enough of a texture to them that the cup couldn’t form a seal. Not to worry, there are sticky vinyl pads included that will stick on the floor on one side and give you a smooth surface on the other. There are five of these pads included, but they are reusable and can even be cut in half to double the number of uses you’ll get. With the pad, I was able to get suction on the floor. I think I got the plank to move slightly, and the gap appears improved.The construction of the suction device is very solid. It’s made out of steel and had a felt tapping pad to prevent damage to the mallet. The mallet head is made of soft rubber and overall it has enough weight to get some force into each hit. The suction is strong, and I am impressed with the performance of this innovative tool.Now to the negatives… although there aren’t many. I did notice that I was getting slippage on the suction cup when I hitting it. It was gripped on the vinyl pad, but not quite enough to be able to put serious force into each hit. It did have to get disconnected and reset, or it would fly off the edge of the vinyl. Also, with enough force, the vinyl would start to bubble up and lose its grip on the floor. I think all of this is because the floor planks were pretty tight, and the gap was not huge. If it was a different type of floor that the suction cup could grip directly, and if it had a larger gap that I hadn’t already pounded on, I think this tool would work like a charm.Given the right application, this tool can be invaluable. It will be a useful tool to keep on hand for when that situation arises. Recommended.

Suction is not great
The suction part does not grip the vinyl flooring, unless it has a fresh sticky sheet. Unfortunately, even on a clean floor they are hardly reusable. I wouldn’t recommend this product.

Great Tool for Easily Fixing Floor Gaps
Laminate and engineered hardwood flooring installed as a floating floor can develop gaps over time. Carelessly moving heavy furniture by sliding, moisture, extreme temperature changes, foot traffic over time, etc., all can loosen the locks between boards if they merely snapped together and not glued. This tool has an extremely strong grip and fit the size of a laminate board perfectly. My laminate and engineered flooring has a fairly smooth surface with no deep texture or scraped pattern, so I did not need to use any of the included sticky pads. This is a very easy tool to use. The rubber mallet may take some effort to hammer the board in place, but it really works and will once again achieve a tight fit to the board. This is a great tool to have on hand, and is worth the money.

Doesn’t work as described
This doesn’t work. It doesn’t stick well enough to move the plank, it just slides. I wasn’t able to solve my problems.
