Thick material and buckles
I was hoping for and received a high quality tailed pad. The padding was think and protective front and back. The straps and buckles are all high quality. The product installs pretty easily especially and the new clips for securing the bike tube is fast and strong. Even the Velcro cover for the camera is heavy.I loaded two bikes in no time and drove confidently with them on my 2024 Chevy Colorado Trail Boss.

Great, Easy and Secure way to haul up to SIX bicycles
This is so easy to set up and remove from the tailgate. You will not have to leave it on when not using it. Bikes load quickly and securely. There are secure metal grommets to thread your own cable lock system through the bicycles, mounting pad and tie down hooks. Made from sturdy, long lasting materials that should last a number of years with even heavy use.

Great alternative to traditional bike racks!
We pull a travel trailer with our Dodge Ram and finding a place for our bikes has been an issue as the traditional bumper bike racks ones won’t work for us. Heard about these tailgate pads for truck beds and thought we’d give it a go. Installing it was very easy and after a bit of trial and error of placing the bikes correctly for us it really is a fabulous way to haul our bikes in the back of the truck! And there was plenty of room in the truck bed for more storage. Highly recommend!

Good product!
Bought it use like new on amazon. Arrived with a tiny scratch that I can’t even find anymore. Super happy. I have a Honda Ridgeline 2023. I ordered a generic brand here first and wasn’t happy. It blocked camera. This Yakima one not only keep the rear camera view perfect its thicker and have better locking system with g hooks. Love it!

Works well, but doesn’t sit flat.
My Silverado has a bump out on the tailgate so the pad ends up with big waves in it. Doesn’t interfere with how it works, but since I leave it on my truck all the time it doesn’t look awesome. I’m thinking about adding my own grommets along the bottom and lacing it through the tailgate gap to get it to sit more flat and move around less. The straps seem to loosen up over time especially if it rains. Holds bikes tight and seems like they improved with aluminum G clips instead of velcro like they had on the previous model for securing the bikes, I like that.

Bought new version, received old model
I purchased the new version that has the hooks for strapping the bike down and received the old velcro strap version. It works fine, but I see the old version for sale at a lower price.

Poor packaging resulted in shipping damage. The tailgate bike pad did not fit properly. The worst was that Spreetail Ca would not provide a prepaid shipping label for the return. It resulted in a big hassle with Amazon A to Z Guarantee to return the item. I would recommend an alternate supplier for a tailgate bike pad. Straps don’t fit e bikes.
