Finally, a Smart Lock That Actually Makes Life Easier!
Iâd been eyeing smart locks for a while, a bit hesitant about the installation process and whether theyâd be more hassle than they were worth. But this keyless entry system has completely changed my mind! From the moment I unboxed it, I was impressed. The build quality feels solid and substantial, definitely not like a cheap piece of plastic. What really struck me was how straightforward the installation was. Iâm not exactly a DIY guru, but I managed to swap out my old deadbolt and handle in under 30 minutes with just a screwdriver. The instructions were clear, and all the necessary hardware was included. It looks sleek and modern on my door, a definite upgrade from my previous setup.The functionality is where this lock truly shines. Having multiple ways to unlock my door is incredibly convenient. The fingerprint scanner is surprisingly fast and accurate â usually, it recognizes my print on the first try, even with slightly damp fingers. For those times when fingerprints are a no-go, the keypad is a great alternative, and setting up a custom code was a breeze. The Bluetooth app control is a game-changer too. I love being able to grant temporary access to guests or family members remotely, and the auto-lock feature gives me peace of mind knowing Iâll never forget to secure my home when I leave in a hurry.Beyond the convenience, the weatherproofing is a huge plus for me. Screw and play solution (Not quite plug and play) Instructions are good.
Bench testing this, it works pretty well. I am surprised by the instructions. It also came with batteries. (!) Only things it doesn’t include are the screwdriver, drill and bit (if you need to cut a new hole, and in most cases that isn’t going to be needed.Easily paired with Tuya’s app, which worked great to enable setting up all of the authentication methods in there: Passcodes (permanant/timelimited/onetime use), fingerprints, cards. (There’s also physical keys, but those aren’t app controlled unless they are a lot more fancy than one would think (and if so, will they work with my car? ;).)It supports running from a USB via the bottom port if the batteries do run out, I tested that. Though it says 55% power.Seriously though, it’s got the best instructions for any deadbolt I’ve setup in the past. I’m actually rather impressed with it. I’ve used keypads (which required a bit of setup, external power, and wiring to other things to work (I included one of the spares I’ve got in one of the pictures, but they should be able to talk to each other (both Tuya devices). I think, this is bluetooth and the other is wifi, so maybe only when a phone with the app is in range? Dunno.)Bags are labeled by step in the instructions and the instructions are all good.I’m planning on putting this on my something not always connected to the internet, so it not needing network or exterior power is Great!I’m not the Lock Picking Lawyer, so I’m not going to say anything with regard to it’s pickability, It doesn’t seem vulnerable to magnetic attack at least. (Playing with some strong bar magnets near it doesn’t seem to do anything as it appears to be a geared servo system internally, not the solenoid systems that are usually vulnerable to that sort of attack.) Properly installed it’s probably as good as a regular deadbolt.Overall, I’m giving this 5 stars because it’s an all in one lock system that doesn’t need things like internet connections to work, and has backup options.
