Great brightening effect but does smell like hot dog water
This is a great product. It does smell like hot dog water and feels a bit sticky for a few minutes after applying. I watch Dr Sam Ellis on YouTube (the owner of prequel) and Iâve heard her and other dermatologists say that good skincare without added fragrance may smell like science not roses – hence the hot dog water smell. It gives my skin a nice glow and does not irritate my acne. If you can wait a few minutes after applying and prefer a fragrance free good vitamin C serum – this one is awesome

Great product
I love this product..I’ve tried alot of different vit c serums over the years and this is the best one I’ve tried. The price is good compared to some of the more high end brands and the product is comparable. I like that is has a pump style bottle wich keeps the vit c active..unlike other products that have a dropper style bottle. The product feels good in my skin .it tingles a bit and feels like it’s nourishing my skin. My skin looks brighter and feels smoother.

THE PROBLEM: I really did not care for this, but I think itâs mostly because Iâve come to learn this isnât the place to buy this type of skincare. Vitamin C ferulic is temperamental as it is, so youâre rolling the dice with unknown storage time, temperature, etc. Iâve tried several times with a couple brands including this one and have wound up sending them all back because they were either counterfeit or gone bad.PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: The consistency is rich like oil, so the pump helps. I squirt one pump in my hand, and it covers my entire face generously. A half pump would probably be sufficient to make it stretch. Pretty great value based on other brands with the same active ingredients, but with better packaging to protect it from air and light. This will definitely last longer and keep its efficacy longer as a result (IF youâre fortunate to get a brand new product in good shape). Smell is typical of other Vit C Ferulic serums (hotdog water, but dissipates). Product did not really fully absorb and sat on top on my skin, making my combination skin super greasy with makeup. Did NOT play well with my Cerave tinted SPF and caused a mild irritation.

Iâve fallen in love with Prequel products. This is a great vitamin C – I have noticed so much improvement in my skin since switching to this brand. Discoloration has faded, skin barrier is healthy, fine lines and wrinkles fading. I love it!

I am still on the fence of how much I like this product. The smell is weird like most people say but itâs not terrible and I donât really mind it. The product is a light consistency and it slightly orange so be careful when youâre wearing a white shirt not to get it on your shirt. However, so far it seems to be effective and I absolutely love this brand overall so I recommend trying it out if youâre wanting to try a new vitamin C serum.

Ive been using this everyday for 5 months. Let’s get to the point:1. Packing- First bottle was fine. Second bottle, sucks. The pump sprays like a water hose and leaks.2. Smell- yes, it has a distinctive smell, fades quickly.3. Did it work on my skin- yes. I purchased a second bottle. Skin is brighter and smooth.

This is my second vitamin c skincare product and Iâm glad to say I wonât be switching to another one. Before, I tried a Korean vitamin c cream but didnât notice any effect from it whatsoever.Prequel has brought me the nicer-quality serum that I need. I love that Dr. Sam Ellis makes this important skincare staple both approachable and affordable.Itâs very liquidy so it took me a few tries to get the hang of application. I tried pumping several drops directly onto my face like some people doâbut I have sensory issues and dislike that feeling.What I do is make a âcupâ with the palm of my hand and pump 1-2 pumps of product into it so it pools. I dip my ring finger to get some of the serum and then apply it in large âdotsâ onto my forehead, then repeat the finger/dot method for my cheeks, chin, neck and nose. Then I use my fingers to collect remaining product from my palm and use them to rub in all of the âdotsâ evenly.I have dry skin. In my experience this serum is not sticky or tacky after applied. It feels smooth, plump and nice. The smell is a bit strange but I donât mind it and it goes away after a few minutes. I usually wait 2-5 mins before applying my moisturizer and sunscreen to let it soak in.I will say you should apply this to bare skin always. I accidentally applied it over some leftover self-tanner lotion on my face and it was extremely itchy and uncomfortable all day. Use it as the first step for daily routine and youâll be good to go.
