Best Seamer. Made is USA!
If you’re working with aluminum and want perfectly straight and precise bends, this is the tool. It’s well designed, and, unlike less expensive seamers, the jaws tips are evenly aligned and thinner than heavy duty steel seamers, so you’ll get perfect angles without any fuss. Overall the best, and worth the investment. Made in USA!

Not intended for sheet metal
This is a very well made tool with comfortable grips and good leverage. The jaws have a slight bow and compress flat to grip the material well. The edge notches are very helpful for aligning and making an even bend. The problem is that the description omits mention of the fact that it is only designed for use on aluminum roof flashing, coil stock, or fascia. Raised printing on the tool indicates that it is not intended for use on sheet metal. This is confirmed on the Malco web site, which shows capacities for their hand seamers. The S2R, S3R, and S6R can handle aluminum as well as 26 gauge stainless and 24 gauge galvanized or mild steel.

flimsy
Lol, I gave em one star… because they DID work well. I bought two of these and both broke. The jaws are cast and pretty flimsy. First one broke while using , second fell off a six foot ladder and shattered. I will NOT be buying a third pair.

Breaks easily
These are very handy if they were not so fragile. The cast aluminum or zinc blade seamers are not built strong enough and will break at the main hinge if you accidentally apply too much pressure, so it is a matter of when, not if. They need to sell replacement blades to have on hand when they break. If these are not made for thin aluminum sheet metal what are they suppose to be used for?Addendum 6/17: I contacted Malco about this issue and they were willing to replace them without giving me flack about how they might have been misused, so at least they are willing to stand up for their products.

Holding up to daily use.
I use this on sheet aluminum about every day. It’s a versatile in-between size. It doesn’t seem to have loosened up to date.

Light metal only
I got these to make pans. Able to bend sides up after using in brake but wouldn’t truck to do it without that. 26g is metal I use. Not able to flatten metal since these flex. Does what I need it to but if you need something stronger get the 3 or 6in.
