    Well worth the investment.
I got to admit, when I first opened it I was a bit underwhelmed. It was small and didn’t look like much. You need a bolted down vise to secure it and setting the blade depth correctly takes a couple tries but once I had it set up I stripped 40 lbs of copper wire in about 2 1/2 hours. That may not sound like a lot but I was stripping 12 to 14 G wire so I stripped a few hundred feet of wire, and with shiny bright copper being at $3 a pound that works out to $120 and it really wasn’t like I was sweating doing it. If I really went to it I’m sure I could’ve busted that out in an hour. I wouldn’t recommend it for the largest hole size, the insulation on those sizes and higher is just too thick, besides you can cut those sizes by hand with a decent utility knife. Hey unless you are going to do hundreds of pounds a day like in a big manufacturing environment don’t invest the hundreds of dollars in an auto stripper until you’ve tried one of these, for what these cost you can’t go wrong. Just be careful tightening the lock screws, they will snap off if you over tighten them.

    Works good hard to adjust
This works good, it is just time consuming to set the depth for thickness of insulation. If you set it too deep it drags and is difficult to pull wire through. If it is too shallow, it requires extra work to peal the insulation off. It is also difficult to know if the cutter is parallel to the wire which makes it impossible to pull if crooked. Overall it works but you will need patience and good eyes.

I got this for my son to help me strip wire
I don’t think he likes helping me scrap stuff though. This is at least a little better than just using a utility knife.

Mike the Scraper said buy it so I did
Mike the Scraper said buy it so I did and it works fine as expected, I am retired and my eyes are not to good but I had no problem seeing and adjusting the blades. Thanks for the excellent tool. payed for itself in just 3 hours of striping copper, its a lot safer than my raiser blade.

Why are we stripping wires anyway
A little hard to get used to. Small surface to grab. Hard to align the wire correctly. Only managed to get two sizes to work. Advice: unless you are a master and have a really good supply, stripping wires earns less than minimum wage. If you do it to keep your hands and mind busy so you don’t do destructive things, great. But stay mindful and stick to a small pile of this junk at your house.

    Terrible
Upon receiving this unit I had a problem opening the package. Jammed into a tiny box that was completely taped over like someone had received and returned it. No directions came with the box. Ok, so you figure how hard is it to pass wire through the unit and strip the insulation. Well there is a blade that has an angle on it and you need tiny eyes to see what direction it would go in to strip the wires. Then if that wasn’t bad enough, the adjusting screw has an allan key head and of course that tool doesn’t come with it. I admit that when you buy some piece of junk furniture, they give you one of those allan keys to tighten everything which usually ends up on the bottom of your toolbox or in the scrap bin. Ok, so I tried to use this unit and presto, one of those tiny little blades inside snapped. What a piece of junk. Not even a brand name on the unit. Good thing Amazon offers a warranty on everything I buy.

Great wire stripper for the money
Works good wish it would do a few larger sizes as well but strips 95% of the wire I need to strip, takes a little trial and error to get the cutters set properly but once they are they do a great job and you don’t have to re set them for quite a while. I made a short video using it on youtube […] would re upload it here but my internet is slow.
