Sturdy and easy to use
This handheld compost aerator is sturdy, easy to use, and very effective. It quickly adds oxygen to the pile, speeds up decomposition, and makes composting far less work. Highly recommended for anyone maintaining a compost bin or pile.

Works great for turning leaf compost in Geobins.
Easy to assemble. Simple. Sturdy. I have been using a spading fork to mix and turn my leaf compost in my Geobins, but that can be a little back-breaking, especially since I have more leaf compost this year and itâs a heavier volume to turn. This mixer easily spirals down into it and then i can life straight up and it pulls up the stuff from the bottom. I do that several times in several spots and that seems to mix it thoroughly with a lot less back work. I do think it was a little more expensive than I would have hoped, but it seems to be a great addition to my gardening tools. Would recommend.

It WORKS!
I was skeptical in purchasing this, and though it a bit expensive. I’ve been hot composting for about 2 years, and getting the hang of it. But turning it is not fun! I have 4 – 3x3x3 made with pallets. This was so easy to use, a bit of arm work but totally doable. I’m 5’1″ and 115lbs and it did not break the back. it was a quick twirl down, and then I twirled and pulled up to mix about 6 times in each section. I 100% recommend this over the old fashioned way of turning your compost with a pitchfork.

Excellent tool for aeration of compost
I was reluctant to buy a specific tool for compost pile aeration because I’ve always just used a pitchfork and tossed it from one side of the wide bin to the other.But we moved and I no longer have a wide bin. We decided to use the portable plastic compost bins that are open on the top. I’m not content to wait a year for the compost to be ready and I want a hot pile, so this tool will make it easy to aerate the pile and mix the layers so it will heat up evenly.I’m looking forward to not having to lift and shift the pile to get it cooking.The tool is very heavy duty and rust proof. It’s an investment because it’s not inexpensive. But my back is going to thank me. I put it together in about a minute.I’m looking forward to using it to make a large batch of compost.

I used to teach composting for Pollution Probe, REEP House, and various others. This compost lifter is the bomb! You just swivel it down, then jag it up and down a few times. It lifts a big pile up, maybe a 12″ circle, and stirs the main pile at the same time. I can do a 20 gallon garbage tub in 20 seconds. This would work in a 45 gallon drum. It is really good at deep piles. Handles any kind of tangling or level of deterioration. Very solid build. Perfect design. Well done!
