Question 2: Are they as easy as sticking them into the ground in the sun and turning them to “on”?

Turn the switch in the back of the solar panel to “on” status and ready to use.

Great lighting bang for the buck.
I really, really like these solar lights with the long lasting lithium batteries..The price is comparable or less than competitors, and the quality is solid. The button gives you off, low, and high light output. When it is off, it is just the lights that are off-the solar panel still gathers energy and stores it.I live in Florida, so I charged them up for two days (button switch in the off) original position. Florida’s sun is FIERCE, especially on days with no clouds or rain! I then tested them by running them in my dark closet to see run times.On low, they ran at least 12 hours, and ran at least 9 hours on high setting.I say “at least” because I don’t believe in running batteries down all the way. When they run down, the intensity is, of course lessened, but still acceptable, and the light becomes more yellowish.When they are outside, the morning light turns off the lights, so my closet test is representative of outdoor lighting times.How does running them in a dark closet compare to outdoor use, as they are intended? Well, the lights last pretty much through the night, depending on when they turn on. If you leave them alone on low, AND have enough sunlight hours for the solar panel, they’ll do the job. If you have Florida or Arizona type sunlight year round, you can leave them on the high setting. Time will tell how long the batteries last. If I get a couple years out of them, I’ll be overjoyed.We have wicked afternoon thunderstorms on some afternoons, so that’ll be the next test for these, to see how water resistant they are.The light level is far brighter than many of the 12 Volt systems my neighbors have, and are far brighter, and last longer than other, older solar lights that other neighbors have..I just have to walk around the neighborhood to see and compare!

Great bright, wide, long lasting light
As an owner of four Nekteck 4 LED 200 lumen solar spotlights I was asked to review their new 10 LED spotlight with 260 lumens.I tried to take a couple of comparison pictures of their brightness â posted with my comments here â but I donât know if that side-by-side really tells the story. By the way, the 4 LED is on the left.For lack of better terms, I will call the 4 LED light the old and the 10 LED light the new.The old light is plenty bright for the spot applications Iâm using them for, and Iâm very happy with the brightness, the width of the beam and the longevity of the light at night after being in the sun. The light beam is round like a flashlight might be and projects out a good solid 18-20 feet. Typically, the light lasts until about 2:00 in the morning (donât ask).The new light is slightly brighter (as one would think with the extra lumens), and a lot wider of a beam to almost a rectangle. The spot distance is not perhaps as long as old, at about 15-18 feet. I am blown away by the duration of the spot â one lasted until 4:30 in the morning (again, donât ask) and the other lasted literally until the rising sun got bright and the sensor got light on it. Iâm just utterly amazed. And it isnât a fluke, those results are consistent over the day cycles since I received the new spots.Also, the stand-up stake configuration is taller for the new light, which for one of my applications will be great to get the solar panel substantially up above foliage to improve charging. There is good adjustability on both, however, the new light seems to have a more steady and tighter positional control.I think both lights are great and should both (4 LED and 10 LED) Nekteck units be available to purchase the buying decision would come down to your need for narrow-round beam or a wider rectangular beam. And perhaps the duration of light projection as an influencer. I recommend both as being worthy of your money.

The accents!!!!!!
Thought I would take a chance and buy these lights just finished up a brand new 16 foot tall garage. I had some artwork above the entrance that I wanted to light up. They shipped fast. They are working great and they are bright enough just to add a little accent lighting. They are not ultra bright, but theyâre doing exactly what I had hoped to do as you can see in the picture.

I love these lights!
I’ve had these lights for about a year now and decided to order some more for the rest of my yard. The brightness of these lights was surprising! I live on a street that doesn’t have a ton of street lighting, so I have these lights focused on my house and the difference is noticeable. My house is the brightest on my street after dark and makes me feel so much more safe than without them. Along with looking good, I think it probably serves as a deterrent to anyone thinking of getting up to no good. If someone has the option of messing with my well-lit house or any of the other houses on my street, I think mine will probably be last on the list. I don’t want to paint the picture that I live in a crime ridden neighborhood because that simply isn’t the case, but as a single woman living alone, these make me feel safer.The longevity has been nice. I’m also a night owl so I’ve had an opportunity to see how long these lights last once they’re charged up from the sun. I’ve seen them still on as late (or early) as 3am. They come on a nightfall, and stay on almost until the next morning, even in the winter when they come on sooner than they do in the summer, they’ve lasted most of the night.Overall, I would absolutely recommend these lights. The profile of the light itself is nice and sleek and not clunky like I’ve seen some other lights and the color and brightness of the spotlight is exceptional.

These have a critical design flaw. The casing containing the battery and circuit board is not hermetically sealed. They lasted a single summer and then started failing. I opened them and found a rusty mess. Thankfully Amazon support fully refunded me.
