Meet the Amateur Sleuth
Quinella ‘Quincy’ McKay runs Rosie’s Posies, a quirky little flower shop in the picturesque town of Hillside. She takes pride in her work creating fabulous bouquets for her neighbors. Following a disastrous marriage, she’s wary when it comes to men, but she can’t help being drawn to handsome Detective Alex Cooper. Not that she needs a man . . . she has a knack for DIY and is more than capable of looking after herself. Her witty humor acts as a coping mechanism when things get tough, but there’s nothing a hot fudge sundae can’t fix.

The Setting
Hillside is a charming small town in northern Utah surrounded by mountains and rolling hills. It’s a close-knit community where everyone knows everyone else’s business and gossip runs rife.

    Perfectly Titled
A creatively arranged murder mystery about a florist that has all sorts of funny, romantic, creepy and scary things happening to her makes this an exciting book to read from beginning to end!

    A fun read
Good story line! I hope the author writes more about some of the other characters. Allie and Danny would both have good stories to continue the series! It was fun with a few good twists.

    Good read
Keeps your interest all the way to the end. Unexpected surprises along the way. Enjoy. I don’t usually give a high rate but this deserved it I thought.

    Contemporary Cozy
A cozy that delivers with frank (I so get) humor along with some not often touched on topics in lighthearted cozy mysteries. As well, a romance setting taken from a different angle plus characters you groan at or grow to love. Quincy is refreshing and relatable in her quirks, insecurities for good reason and inner dialogue. The mystery got a bit twisty in a way for me towards the middle endish (why 4 stars) at times. If you a cozy fan you eventually know whose direction to look towards as the culprit. Still I enjoyed the humorous & bumpy ride in Utah along with a blossoming romance and also a fun friendship. Looking forward to book two😀

More of the same boring character
Quincy was the typical female character, falling, tripping, a victim of physical abuse and she solves the crime?!? This is so old. For an independent woman, the writer made her the typical stereotype character. Why? Of course Alex is too.

    Too Religious
Books that feature religion should be included in the synopsis. While the FMC appears to have stepped away from Mormonism there we a lot of references to said religion. Did not finish.

Quincy (Quinella) has taken over looking after her Auntie Rosie’s florist shop while she is holidaying overseas. A rival florist who has taken all her business with a local mortuary is found dead and Quincy is suspected of his murder.I found Quincy a bit of an annoying character with constantly acting without thinking, jumping to conclusions and having to be rescued by handsome policeman Alex, who seemed to “fall in love at first sight”. She acts like a besotted teenager around him – this is supposed to be a woman who has survived a violent marriage but swings between being independent, not wanting help to being “lovesick”. There are other interesting characters in the story. The character I liked best was KC – an older woman who became her delivery driver after the young lady Nick was let go for being unreliable. KC spoke her mind and was a positive character with some funny quirks. In typical cozy mystery style, Quincy gets into strife on multiple occasions trying to solve the murder mystery herself and not ringing police when it would be the logical thing to do. Some of the “leads” she came up with were just plain confusing with no clear suspects. The ending and killer reveal was almost anticlimactic and felt unsatisfying. I didn’t hate the book by any means, but I just didn’t enjoy it as much as I’d hoped.
