Customers say
Customers find these garden shears to be of good quality, comfortable to use, and particularly effective for bonsai trimming, even for those with arthritis. They work well for major winter cutting jobs and remain sharp throughout the season. However, the cut quality and sharpness receive mixed reviews – while some say they cut through branches like butter and are very sharp, others report they don’t cut well and become dull quickly. The durability is also mixed, with some saying they’ll last a lifetime while others find them very flimsy. The lock mechanism receives criticism for being too difficult to open and close.

As advertised.
Sharp and cut nicely. Don’t open as wide as last pair. But they’re a different brand and work a bit differently. I have small hands and are easy to use and work locking mechanism. They are very nice.

Great Pruners
After reading previous reviews I was a little bit concerned about the ease of the sliding lock on the handle and if it would fit my hand. The blade is made out of German steel and is high quality. When it opens all the way I canât reach both sides well. It cuts up to an inch so you donât really need it all the way open to cut that sized branch. If it is open all the way there is an inch and a half from the blade. I held it in my left hand and slid the lock with my right hand. I squeezed it shut as I was sliding the lock. The reason I held it in the left was the screw for lock is on the right. The picture shown is how I hold to slide lock. When cutting I have my fingers inside. If I tried sliding it from non screw side it was more difficult. Easy for me if I slide from screw side. You also need to squeeze handle closed to assist in locking or unlocking. I have trimmed trees and bushes and needed something to break them down for burning in a burn can. As soon as it got here I tested it. With my arthritis this really helps and is way more comfortable.

Handy dandy garden clippers!
On the plus side, these clippers can easily be used with just one hand. Otherwise, however, I wish that they were sturdier. Nonetheless, I routinely use them while gardening.

Works. Kinda pricey but better delivers
Actually pretty good. I use for flower trimming and pruning. It does not cut thicker stalks on the initial clip. But then rachets for tension to cutâ¦easily once it rachets.

cuts effortlessly thru branches, have rheumatoid arthritis n my hands and this works so effortlessly, possibly the best shears I ever owned and used

Need large hands to use this tool. Made for men.
I had a difficult time releasing the latch that holds the blades closed. Could not do it with my fingers. Had to use a tool to release the lock. Then it was just as difficult to close back up. I did not even try to cut anything. The grip is so large I could barely open the tool. I might have been able to cut a 1/4 in stem, but in order to cut a larger stem or branch, the blades must be opened so wide that the hand grip was wider than my hand could reach. This might be a great tool for men, but it is not for women. After the fact, I noticed all the adds and video were of men using the tool. I was excited to find a ratchet tool so it did not require as much strength, but I could not open wide enough to even use the ratchet feature. It is way to wide for most women’s hands. I wish they would have mentioned that or shown a woman using it. Had to return.

You should try this design pruner. It works and well.
Bought because I wanted to see if this design was any better than another I bought. The design is the same they work the same. This design I like. The blades are sharp. easily cuts Ligustrum branches up to 3/4 on occasion requiring 2 hands. You can cut 1 inch by rotating the branch with small cuts. This design is now my favorite. Doesn’t need a spring return because of the rifle like grip. My first impression was yuk. The rachet mechanism rattles but that’s a good thing. You should use gloves on both hands. Also, when holding a bunch of trigs stay 2 inch back away from the cutting blade. Wrap your entire fist around so you don’t nip that pinky finger. Ever notice, it doesn’t want to get involve. It’s not a cup of tea. This goes for all hand pruners.I just cut 30 x 33 GAL bags of bushes with 2 pruners of this design.

Works very well/Not high quality
I really like these pruners. They are easy on my arthritic hand and they are quite sharp. I like the ratchet feature. It easily cuts through branches 3/4″ thick. I have not tried a 1″ branch as advertized. The only reason I did not rate it higher is because of the qualitiy of the product. While they are very sharp, the product feels flimsy, as if it will not last in the long term. Time will tell.

Really very excellent pair of pruning shears, especially for those of us with arthritis in our hands. I cleaned up a tangled mess in my backyard without a single thing of pain and I didnât have to use a drop of oil.

Bought as a gift: doesnât look giftable. Itâs light and looks cheap with a Very poor finish and has Chinese script on the label.Unless the Germans have changed their script, I doubt that itâs from Germany!
