They consider it good value for money, though assembly experiences are mixed, with some finding it easy to operate while others report poor instructions. Good quality, easy assembly, and performs as advertised..
I was concerned that this would be very cheap quality, but am pleasantly surprised. Looks good, parts are sturdy and it puts out a little more heat than I even expected. Very easy to assemble, good instructions, all parts present and solid construction including where parts join.. all I needed was a Philips screwdriver. Very satisfied. It’s now 4 weeks later and I am even more totally satisfied with this heater… it puts out great heat, and I love the tray.. it turns out that is a very handy feature when trying to snuggle up close to it on a cold night with a few hors d’oeuvres and drinks!

  2. Amazon Customer

    Heats the patio
I received two boxes, so I thought it came in two parts. When we opened the first box we realized it was a complete unit. I double checked that I had ordered just one, I had. Then I checked to be sure I was charged for just one, I had. We assembled the heater but the top was a bit crocked. The holes were not in perfect alignment, so we took the top from the second box and it fit perfectly. I returned the unused heater, with the crocked alignment. Once the heater was up and going we found it to be a very good unit. We live in Wisconsin and the fall can get chilly, but with the heater on we were able to enjoy many extra times on the deck. We are now planning to have our Thanksgiving dinner on the deck, with the heater, so our daughter and son-in-law can enjoy dinner with us. No being inside during this pandemic, but we can be together outside.

    Damaged on arrival
I watched the amazon guy walk up to the house carrying the package with the tube sticking out of the box. He set the box down, forcefully pushed the tube back into the box, took his picture and scurried away. After opening the box and checking all the parts, I found the tube was smashed on one end and the main tank cover was damaged and the door would not open. I had to pry it open with a screwdriver and bend the latch back into place. The tube took a some reshaping with a dead blow hammer to get it back into shape. While assembling the unit, one of the screws did not have a cross pattern in it to use the philips screw. I had to purchased a screw to replace the defective one. Overall it is a tall heater and functioning with normal difficulty lighting. I reduced a star due to poor packaging and having the unit damaged on arrival.

Great Value and Look for the Price
We bought three of these heaters; two arrived on-time, one never showed up. Amazon sent a new “third” heater out – two days later it arrived. Assembled easily, but we had read the reviews so we knew they were not going to be perfectly straight and we had a bag of playground sand waiting to go in the bases. Obtained three new Rhino propane tanks from Lowe’s. None of the heaters lit. Called the customer service number in the instruction booklet – fantastic help! The man walked us through troubleshooting each heater (one bad tank) and stayed on the phone until all three heaters worked. We’ve come to expect excellent customer service from Amazon, but so nice when the product has excellent customer service, too! And we like the look of the bronze hammered metal!

  5. Safety First

    ABSOLUTE JUNK
I ordered/received my patio heater. It had missing parts, the instruction manual didn’t match other literature supplied with the heater, it does not light, the igniter button and pilot do not work. I called AZ Patio Tech support- they provided the wrong directions, later admitted that and are aware that their Chinese manufacturing partners have compliance issues. I spent 7.5 hours over days on the phone with their tech support and upper management. IT DOES NOT WORK, brand new. They want me to disassemble 90 parts and rebox it to return it OR they want me to disassemble and send them the burner unit, for them to repair. IT IS BRAND NEW. Worst customer service imaginable. Plus, they told me to disregard all safety features and light it on HIGH with a fireplace lighter. DO NOT BUY FROM AZ PATIO. An Amazon customer service supervisor was on the call with them and heard it all.

    Very nice unit.
I love this heater. My garage is my hangout year round now. Yes I know they say not to do that but lets face it, most of us are using these for that. Even at near 0 temps, this thing keeps you warm and toasty as long as you are near it. When the temp climbs into the teens or 20s it warms my entire garage nicely.I have no other experience with patio heaters so I can’t tel you if this is a top notch unit or not, all I know is that it work very well and for $96 you cannot complain. It seems to be fairly easy on gas, as I have had it on, close to max most of the time for easily 12 hrs intermittently over the last week and just now ran a tank empty. Very impressive and highly recommended.

So easy, I thought I missed something!
First of all, I don’t know what was wrong with the other reviewers, but this was the easiest assembly I have ever encountered! I ordered 2 units… The first one took about 30 minutes to assemble, alone… With no engineering help, because I had to read the directions first… The second unit took less than 15 minutes to assemble. Both fired up flawlessly after the 2 minute purge (in the directions!) and have continued to work without issue, even in the harsh Michigan winters.Instructions are clear and concise, yes they are translated and use metric labels… But the blister pack of parts is so clearly marked you would need to be a complete dope to not be able to figure it out.

Cheap metal that can’t support its own weight
Bought this product 3 years ago. Got the prote time cover for it to keep weather off of it. To keep it from blowing over they were strapped to the deck. Well this summer I was looking at them and noticed them leaning a bit. Well didn’t think much about till I uncovered them and found they were bent over in half. The cheap metal that holds the pole and top in place doesn’t have the strength to support itself. Iam pretty handy and can usually come up with something to fix these issues but these are done. If you buy them You might get 3 years like I did out of them.

Happy with the look and heat provided. However, the ignitor only worked for the first three uses and after that I’ve had to use a lighter to ignite the burner.I don’t recommend buying the cover since it will cause the unit to blow over in the wind and cause damage to the heater.

The patio heater was fun to assemble, and arrived in good shape. I was able to start it every time I tried, though some times I had to hold down the pilot light for longer than 45 seconds until the spark from the igniter caught the gas. It looks how I expected, and provides enough heat to make a 7C day feel comfortable when you are next to it. After this summer, I will decide if I should have gone with a sitting level heater, as that is my main focus when outside on the deck. I liked the price when I bought it, it was $10 cheaper than Home Depot or Lowe’s versions.

Well, I went to use this for the third time a year later and it is not working. Not sure what the problem is but the gas does not seem to come through. I am very disappointed in the product and since I use it rarely it is well past warranty. I would suggest paying more money for a more reliable product. Now I know I disregard 1-star review myself a lot but please be aware.
