Durable tape measure with a good cause
The Spec Ops Tools 25-foot tape measure is solid and feels military-grade. The 1″ double-sided blade is easy to read, and the composite case is tough yet lightweight. For the price , this tape measure can go through the paces of constant use , the locking feature hasnât faltered and the retraction is still strongOnly reason it doesnât take 5 stars for me would be its limitations for measuring anything over 8 foot in the air before the tape gives way and falls to the floor

Love the tape, but not the casing….
Ive been using these tapes now for the better part of 6minths and even after many drops they still operate like the day I got em. I find these tapes really durable and easy to read – the tape itself is highly visible and readable even inow light conditions, which I love.The casing is very durable – I’ve dropped the tape from as high as 16ft onto concrete several times (by accident) and there’s been no issues with the casing cracking or the tape failing to retract. My only beef with this tape measure is that the dark colored casings certainly do not stand out in my toolbox or around the shop when I’m looking for it..they’re impractically camouflaged. I keep one in the door of my truck and it just blends into the black trim. I have neuropathy so I even struggle locating it in the tool bag on my hip sometimes if lighting in the workspace isn’t perfect. Hoping they do something about this because the tape is one of the best I’ve found in durability and readability, have already lasted way beyond brand names I’ve used like DeWalt, Milwaukee, etc. for as visible as the tape is, the casing should also get the same attention with a a more visible color scheme.

Iâm a vet that recently just finishedMy 12 years of Army and now getting into construction and carpentry as my second skill and I came across Spec-Ops and saw their tools. Being a vet and seeing a company that is owned and operated by vets and donates to a cause that helps our military and first responders I decided that I would buy most of the hand tools from Spec Ops instead of the big name brand companies. So far I am happy with all of Spec Ops tools, they withstand the durability of my work requirements and just something about it being tactical just makes it that much more appealing to me.But recently Iâve had my first âoopsâ when I was installing siding about 15 feet off the ground on a scaffolding and my measuring tape fell and fell in a rapid spinning motion, as I watched my measuring tape fall and hit the ground I saw a piece break off. I didnât have the measuring tape more than a month, I go and inspect it and the plastic piece that prevents the lip of the tape measure from going all the way inside broke off and I think also tho curved part that hooks on things also bent inwards a little. The measuring tape is still doing its job to measure but I think now itâs about an 8th off and gets stuck inside the measuring tape so I put it to the side for now till I figure out how to fix it. I did just order another 25 Foot and a 16 foot with the 96 foot and 24 foot level. Fingers crossed it comes more durable than the last.Before it fell, it was an amazing product and my co workers were jealous of me of seeing how well it was made and felt in operations.My recommendation is use a metal piece instead of a plastic piece or use a metal piece that is tuff box material coated so it can withstand the constant durability effectiveness of the measuring tape.Overall great work but it did not pass the 15 Foot drop. Great product and supports veterans
The only tape measure that you’ll need! All my others have officially been shelved. As someone who (despite being a wood worker for over a decade) still has to count the marks on a tape measure, I appreciate that the marks are labeled. As we used to say in the Marines, they broke it down Barney style.The double hook at the end is incredibly helpful and the vertical numbers on the back make it easy to read when measuring vertically.The tape measure if we’ll built and sturdy. The tape can even be extended unsupported well beyond what my other ones can before it bends.I believe the company is veteran owned and operated. 3% of every purchase goes to supporting different veteran and first responder groups. Choosing Spec Ops tools also supports great causes which is awesome!I will definitely be upgrading my tools to Spec Ops in the near future!As a woodworker, I would like to see them add some drill, impact, and router bits as well as clamps, saws, and saw blades to their product line. Maybe some bench cookies??Long story short, you won’t regret going with Spec Ops!

One inch wide scale. One sixteenth inch minimum interval. Scale on both sides. Counts up in inches. Foot intervals labelled in feet, above one foot there are secondary markings showing how many inches you are into the new foot (not feet and inches). Multiples of sixteen inches are highlighted to keep the binary theme going, maybe useful for plasterboard studs. Only fully imperial (or US) modern tape measure have seen in the U.K. Useful for carpentry etc where raw materials from hardware shop are in millimetres but work out to round number of feet or inch fractions. Ideal companion to a millimetre only tape if you want to keep systems separate, ensure readability and be able to read same system both sides. Now U.K. is more exposed to non-EU suppliers imperial / US measured items seem more prevalent, so this tape measure is a handy tool for dealing with all that.

Spec Ops – SPEC-TM16: Fabulous 16â tape measure. No complaints whatsoever out of the gate. Love the clear double sided measure and clear illustrated fractions. Beautifully legible. My partner does not understand the unmarked measurements on a ruler, so when I saw this tape I knew it would not only be excellent for me, but also a learning tool serving as a clear way for my partner to understand what 5/8″ etc means. Wide blade and perfect compact size. The lock stays locked, it engages/disengages easily without the need for excessive force and you actually feel it lock in place. Priced fair. My other two tapes which I’ve always loved are Stanley FatMax, but I wish I had known about these Spec Ops tapes sooner because all of my tapes otherwise would have been Spec Ops. The scale measurements accurately matches up with my Stanley FatMax. And, with 3% being donated to veteran and first responder causes; I canât argue with that. If youâre considering to buy a tape measure; I would say, don’t hesitate, buy this one.

this is a great tape measure i am a cabinet builder and installer and this is my favorite tape.i have been using it for over a year now most tapes last me days or weeks or months.I buy new tapes all the time but since i bought this one I havn’t had to.I am purchasing another one now I put a slight kink in the tape in a tight spot still works just fine but I like my things perfect.For quality and longevity I whole heartedly reccomend this tape as well as any other spec ops tool.Good quality tools at a very reasonable price
