3M Marine Adhesive Sealant 5200 is a multi-purpose adhesive sealant made specifically for the marine market. This high-strength adhesive forms a weather-resistant seal. It’s unique formula reacts with moisture and provides plenty of working time, taking up to 4 days to fully cure. Ideal for use above and below the waterline, it reliably bonds dissimilar materials including wood, fiberglass, gelcoat, plastics, and metals. Polyurethane sealants such as this form permanently flexible, elastomeric bonds that seal against the elements, maintain joint movement, and absorb stress caused by shock, vibration, swelling or shrinking. Such durability, versatility, and flexibility prepare 3M Marine Adhesive Sealant 5200 for tough applications like sealing portholes, deck/hull fittings, rub rail attachment, screw holes, and stanchion supports.

Great Stuff if You Know What It Is
3M Marine 5200 is very much a marine industry standard — for a reason. It does what it does very well, but don’t order this unless you know exactly what that is. It’s a “sealant” that takes a full 48 hours to cure… and once it does cure, congratulations, whatever you used it on better be something you want to stay put forever-ish.It’s also a “use it or lose it” $20 tube. Open it — and consider anything you leave in the tube as toast. You’re not just going to stick a nail in the tip like it’s RTV and use it later. It’s also fussy about how you prep the mating surfaces. Acetone? Perfect. Alcohol? Congrats, it will never set. Never. READ THE LABEL.

If you want it tight and waterproof, this is the go-to.
Best adhesive I know of for sealing and bonding at same time. Cures hard and resilient. It is my go-to if I want it waterproof and securely bonded. If you might have to remove it later without cutting, use 3M 4000. I always get this size, small size tube is way overpriced. It is gooey and gets on every thing so wear gloves and keep mineral spirits solvent handy to remove any smears.

Poke a hole in the end and cut the tip off a little at an angle
Works great Takes forever to dry (defiantly not 3! more like 4-days -1 Star*)!! I got mine with the tip!! No holes, came just fine!! Stuff is great!! Strong with a little flex to it. Think caulk with strength..For the reviewer talking about the tip not working? ?Poke a hole in the end of the tube! You do have to cut the end off on the nipple you screwed on!! Also there is a pop top lip on the bottom, you have to pull that off as well. Looks like you figured that out ok? But Yes you do have to cut the tip off and —-> poke a hole in the end of the tube as well!! Before screwing the nipple on!!So here is a recap… Poke a hole in the end where the tip screws on and cut the tip off the nozzle a little at an angle and pull the pop top pull lid off the bottom. DoneP.S. Could have put my project together with just this no need for rivets as I was using Composite Aluminum Panels..

Fixed cracked shower pan!
Folks there is a other version that allows for curing in 24 hours, this takes 4-7 days to cure and is quite pliable after initial set. I used on a cracked all-in-one shower pan. I was skeptical for the first 24-48 hours because of the slow cure. Be patient, when it cures it is stronger than steel and has some flex to it – perfect for standing in the shower and not worrying. It created a water tight that will probably last longer than the house itself. Again, if you need something to cure faster, seek out the similar name 3M. This is the real deal!!!

Missing parts pain to return and reorder
Did not come with tips or plug to use in a Caulking tool. I’m sure it works great but 3m will not just send me the tips or plug so need to return and reorder. Waste of time and money

We’ll see how long it lasts so far so good.

Great product. |Awesome adhesion and sealing qualities.

I use this to seal the leak that was coming from the roof rails of the 2007 Honda Odyssey. The original seals have already dried up. Be prepared to have messy hands when using the stuff. This particular sealant will take a few days to cure. People say that they will cure faster when it makes contact with water. There is also a fast cure version that hardens in 24 hours. That one I used for a paddle boat.
