Perfect fit and works as it should!
Install was simple and for oem, it is definitely quality. It fit perfectly. A big upgrade compared to the older crystal knob and looks more modern. This was the cheapest option compared to other sites. The only issue was removing the old screw from my shower but thatâs not an issue with the product itself. You will also save money by not having to replace the shower valves which requires a lot more work and money.

Changed my order to this kit after I accidentally corroded my old backing plate with vinegar. The hardest part of installation was removing the bonnet nut (had to cut it off with a hacksaw to avoid damaging the valve). The instructions are easy to follow, but don’t contain any info on how to install the round plate. Overall, the kit worked well, looks good compared to my old shower knob, and was successful at stopping my drip.

Follow-up after a installation of kit
OK, my first product review. I read all the current reviews below a 5 star. Looked at a dozen YouTube videos. Here are some comments. The kit replaced the crystal ball with the flat lever type. All the parts fit. You have to be VERY careful removing the old parts. My sleeve and end piece were “welded” on with snow white minerals. I sprayed mine 3-4 times a day for 3 days with silicone WD-40. I had my dremel tool ready to cut it off but the soaking made it pop right off. I also bought the “reversing” ball mentioned in many reviews just in case. I took a chance and used the kits new ball and installed with the “large” hole down per the instructions. The water was reversed with hot on right and cold on left. I then took the kits ball and simply put the large hole facing up and it totally cured the problem. Upon inspection the reversing ball and the kits ball were identical so Delta must have corrected the issue and never told anyone. Why they said large hole down is beyond me. Now I have to return the “reversing” ball. There is a problem with the conversion kit. The difference between hot and cold is about a 3/4 inch arc. You have to let the water get totally hot then slowly move the handle towards the cold until you like it. Don’t go cold to hot because it can go full on hot in an instant. When in the shower do not bump the handle ! The updated look of the lever arm VS the crystal ball is worth the effort, it make a huge visual difference. I just think Delta needs to do just a little more engineering on the kits ball to get better H/C water flow. Your 600 may be different so you may have to experiment a bit. Good Luck !

***Excellent Kit to Refresh an Old Delta***
My 1990-era Delta Tub/Shower faucets (600 series) were beginning to leak from the stem. I knew I could probably just order the innards and replace those to stop the leaking, but the VERY dated crystal-style handle was just begging to be updated. This kit fit the bill perfectly. The first thing I did was searched for “Delta 600 series” on YouTube. The first video – by an uploader with the name of ramonasplumber – gave a very good, in-depth tutorial. Excellent assistance! The biggest challenge of installing this kit is being very careful in removing the old dome screw cap from behind the handle. If you try to turn it by brute force you WILL damage the underlying valve beyond repair necessitating a complete valve replacement. I simply used large channel locks and a rubber mallet. Once I had a good hold on the cap I hit the channel locks with increasing force until it gave way (much like an impact wrench does to stubborn bolts). With years of mineral build up on each of the 2 Delta faucets I rebuilt with this kit this method worked great with some patience.Once you get the cap off it’s quite simple to do the remaining job. Another very helpful tip (which I learned from the YouTube video) was to use silicone plumber’s grease (ensure silicone as it won’t swell rubber o-rings) on all moving parts. After the completion of the job it made the handle movement very smooth and pleasant. Note: While installing one of these kits on a faucet I was sure I screwed something up. After greasing the steel ball with silicone the weight of the handle kept closing the valve on it’s own (drifting downward from upward). I envisioned being in the shower and it turning off by itself. Once I tured the water back on to the house the pressure fixed it right away and kept it in place. No problem – whew!I’ve ready several complaints about the valve being opposite in turning on the hot and cold water. I’m not sure what they are talking about as the bottom of the long part of the handle points towards the appropriate temperature selection. Left for hot and right for cold. In the instructions for the kit there is a specific mention of ensuring the steel ball is installed a certain way to insure proper operation, so be sure to double-check when installing yours. The only real performance difference I noticed is a slightly reduced water pressure for each faucet out of the shower head. It wasn’t enough to bother me, but I did notice it. This may have to do with increasing water usage reduction regulations, but I’m not sure as it didn’t reduce it enough to make me research it.In summary, this high-quality kit gave me a new, updated faucet without having to replace the valve or rip apart the wall. It should be good for another decade or so before having to worry about it!

a little expensive but does the job and works well… and the faucet handle looks better than the old style diamond shape handle.

Makes the old Delta like new and with an updated lever.

Work fine but it still has the tilt and turn mechanism that the old ball had. I wish these kits would convert faucets to turn-only. Maybe that’s an engineering impossibility… I’m not a plumber so I don’t know. Anyway it was easy to do and looks nicer. One issue is that the H and C are backwards from what you’ll be used to, so it takes some months before your brain adjusts to adjusting the temperature. If you’re adjusting for kids, make them step out of the shower first, in case you make a mistake.

this is everything you need to replace your old acrylic shower faucet handle. Yes, to replace just one acrylic handle you’d need this entire kit.

The package came missing the springs. Luckily the old ones were in good shape to reuse.
