Affordable and Easy DIY Installation – A Must-Have Doorbell Camera!
I recently purchased the AOSU Doorbell Camera and I couldn’t be more pleased with my decision! The installation process was incredibly straightforward. I was able to set it up myself without any professional help, which saved me a significant amount of money compared to hiring an installer. The 5MP Ultra HD video quality is impressive, and I appreciate that there are no monthly fees associated with using this camera. The dual-band WiFi compatibility (2.4/5 GHz) ensures a stable connection, and it works seamlessly with Amazon Alexa , making it easy to integrate into my smart home setup.Overall, this doorbell camera not only provides peace of mind with its excellent features but also was a cost-solution for my home security needs. Highly recommend!

Working great after replacement, customer support responsive
The first doorbell system I received had some sort of battery problem. Charging took far longer than it should have and the charge percentage reported by the app changed up and down very quickly. Other than the battery issue the doorbell worked great. I reached out to the Aosu support e-mail regarding my problem and got a response a day or so later. Receiving a replacement took a bit longer than they quoted but that may be due to the Christmas season. The replacement doorbell (shipped new from Amazon) charges and functions as expected. I did have to pay the return shipping upfront but was reimbursed via Amazon after providing a receipt.I am really enjoying this doorbell. I have a number of other cameras so I would know if this missed notifying about any activity and it has not. I have also not received and false alarms but my house is far enough off the street to not receive unexpected motion like passing cars. Setting up the app and doorbell system took only a few minutes and worked on the first attempt. Adding another user to my doorbell also went without a hitch. We both receive notifications as expected. Pulling up events and live video is also quick and easy. With the first doorbell there was sometimes an error when trying to view live video and I had to press a refresh button. I have not had this issue with the replacement but even if I did it’s a matter of one button press to resolve so I don’t consider it a major issue.Video quality is very clear even at night. I have a porch light so the unit rarely uses night vision and instead must rely on fairly low lighting. It also doesn’t appear to take up much space on the base unit’s SD card as even running for a couple months only showed a very small percentage of space used. Video is easy to view at home or while away with no costs as you find with Nest and other products.Two-way audio is quite clear and there is little delay. There are 3 canned audio clips to ask people what they are doing or to drop the package at the door in a male voice. I have not had a need to use them but they seem realistic enough to get the job done. It would be nice if there was a feature to record your own audio clips, but there is not.I’m very happy with my purchase.

Awesome Ring Alternative
Awesome Ring replacement. I bought this after first considering the newest Aqua video doorbell. But, it suddenly become unavailable after China paused trades with USA. Which forced me to look further for a no-subscription video doorbell. This installed easy, has great response time. Just as good as my Ring video doorbell. And awesome video quality. Connectivity went very smoothly. I have it powered by wire, which is what I wanted. It has its internal battery, which seems to charge slowly, not a big deal. After a day and a half it is at 94%. The durability of the unit seems good, no worse than my Ring unit. I wanted a unit I donât have to pay annually for and I am very pleased so far. They seemed to have mimicked everything I had and used with Ring. The tones are not the same, but I can live with that. Not having the same alert tone as everyone else around me is a good thing.

Better app. Better resolution. A better overall experience.
I’ve tried Eufy, Botslab, and Lorex cameras and of all of them, Aoso had the cleanest install, the 2nd best app experience, and 2nd best 5MP resolution. I was very pleased with it until I found another doorbell camera that has higher resolution and has an even better app experience. The improvements that would make this doorbell camera better are: a memory card storage and a cleaner app. I had a Eufy experience in which the internal memory went bad after 3 years, so I was concerned I could have this issue with the Aoso. Unfortunately, Aoso only offers the memory card storage option with the battery-only camera whose resolution is 2K and whose Home Base only works with 2.4GHz wifi. I’m spoiled so I won’t give up the higher resolution and faster wifi connectivity of this camera. I had originally purchased both, but didn’t even break the shrink wrap on the battery-only camera. I refuse to have to charge a battery every month or so..There are enough high resolution video reviews on here, so I won’t bother to add another. The screenshot shows that I can easily see my neighbor’s truck about 1/4 mile up the road! This camera has separate volume control on both the indoor chime and the camera ringer. There are also multiple ringer type options for both, as well as voice disguising that made my dogs sound like chipmunks or the Peanuts teacher. I installed this camera in less than 10 minutes. Don’t put off buying or installing this camera – you won’t regret it!As for the review that brought up privacy concerns because of location sharing: I denied those permissions and manually entered my wifi SSID and password, and I denied Bluetooth access to find my wife’s phone when I emailed the sharing link to her. The app will still function perfectly without sending Aoso your GPS coordinates..

Brilliant camera and no ongoing storage charges unlike the Ring cameras.Super clear image in daylight and at night time which is a big upgrade from our cctv camera which is terrible at night time.Has settings that enable you to designate which areas you want to monitor on your property and which to exclude which is handy as we are a corner property and get lots of passing traffic at the end of the driveway that we don’t want to be notified about, and it pings an alert to your phone when anything occurs in that area marking it under a category such as motion, lingering etc.The default card only records when something happens and loops over existing recordings, so there is no endless scrolling to find what you are after, and there is plenty of room on the default sd card in the camera, we’ve had it installed a week and still able to see video that was taken whilst we were installing it. The camera does have the option of upgrading the card to something larger should you need it however. The set up is really easy to do via the easy to use app and installing it was just a case of taking the old doorbell off the wall and screwing the existing two wires that connected that into the back of the new camera, nice touch is that it comes with a template making it straight forward to know where to drill the holes as well as extension wires so that it wasn’t so fiddly to install.Really happy with the camera and can’t recommend it enough.

Works great!! Easy install and set up, but use wood screws not the screws provided. The provided screws easily strip. Clear image, easy navigation of the app. Bonus that a monthly subscription is not required.

We live on a 2nd floor and got this so we don’t have to run up and down stairs if not necessary, and because delivery drivers don’t often ring our bell. The good:Easy to set up, works even with a very weak wifi signal to the doorbell, great picture quality, good options in the app for changing the doorbell sounds and volumes for both the indoor home unit and outdoor bell, easy to adjust the settings to get best picture quality. All recordings are stored locally with no extra SD card required. The ‘I wish it could be better’:Only 2 people can be connected on the app to the device, so once you’ve got parents on it it’s no help for teens unless you pay for a subscription service. Also, if 2 people are connected as soon as one looks at the notification it disappears from the other’s device. The ‘less good but not bad enough to remove a star’:We have the camera flat mounted in a box that attaches to our door. Our door and frame is metal, and the house is brick so drilling isn’t an easy option to get the angle we need. Because of this and that our door is up a few steps, we’re not able to see the ground in front of our door to see if a package was left. This happened today where I got an email notice that something was delivered but no notice from the camera (maybe the delivery person was a vampire… *shrug*) and I couldn’t check without going to the door. I do wish it had an option for a lower field of vision.
