Iâve had a great experience with DREAME before, so I decided to try the X40 Master â and I love it. The design is super sleek and minimal, and the compact base blends right into the room. It doesnât scream ârobot vacuum,â which I really appreciate.The water system is clever â it refills, drains, and cleans the mop automatically. Impossible to hook up
The machine runs great but if youâre in an average American household itâs impossible to install unless you hire a plumber to put in a floor drain and a separate water hookup lower than 2.5 feet. If you purchase this be prepared to spend a few thousand dollars installing it.

I recently got the Dreame X40 Master, and itâs been a game-changer for my compact apartment. I switched over from using the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Braava Jet M6, and I have to say, this little machine outshines them both. The floor cleaning, especially the mopping, is on another levelâcloser to edges, around furniture legs, and just overall more thorough. Plus, itâs super quiet. I can have it running while I sleep, and it doesnât wake me upâa huge bonus compared to the noisy Roomba.One feature I love is that it cleans just as well in the dark, thanks to its built-in light. Maybe other robots have this, but it feels like a luxury for me. I almost went for the Dreame X40 Ultra, but when I saw that the X40 Master connects directly to the water supply and drainage, I knew it was perfect for my space. No more dealing with dirty water tanks or bad smells, which is a huge relief.Another big plus: the dust bag is larger, so I donât have to replace it as often. Maintenance is easy tooâthe sliding shelf design makes everything super accessible. And speaking of design, the brush and mop are on swinging arms that actually clean all the way to the edge. Itâs the little details like this that make a big difference.The lidar mapping is also impressive. It mapped my place so quickly, and itâs night-and-day better than the camera-based system on my old robot. I like how it can tell which rooms are dirtier and goes back for a second passâsmart and efficient.The mop pad washing and drying features work great and keep everything smelling fresh. My only minor gripe is that I wish the cleaning solution came in a larger size or maybe as a powder I could mix myself. Not a big deal, though.Overall, the Dreame X40 Master has exceeded my expectations. If you have hard floors (I canât speak for rugs), this robot is a must-have. Iâm really happy with my purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, efficient, and feature-packed cleaning robot.

Good quality, good looking from packaging onwards.It does leave a strikes behind a specially if pads are not replaced frequently. I am using it for large commercial area, if used for home Iâm sure it would be excellent.Customer support is good but for diagnostics only available through emails and working hours are on Asian time.They do answer the phone but canât help with technical issues.Over all Iâm very happy with product.It may sound expensive but it will pay off very quickly as you will not be cleaning the floors yourself or paying someone to do the job.Best off all is that is 100 percent self operated, no need to add clean water or empty dirty one.

Powerful robot vac!
It was time to upgrade my robot vacuum. Did a bit research before spending a sum in this Dreame X40 Master model. So far it did an excellent job cleaning our hardwood floors. I like its compact design. The suction is quite powerful, picking up almost all debris on the floor. Obstacle avoidance worked quite well with good sensors. The extended side brushes do help with better corner coverage. The app is solid with multiple customizable features, though I have yet to use all of them. I used Alexa to voice control the device. Self-cleaning with auto refill and drain of water is cool. It took me a bit while to finish the plumbing work to connect the unit with a a sink nearby, but all good to go after that. If you happen to have a customized cabinet with enough space to store the base, that will be a neat fit. I feel this is a good investment. Happy wife, happy life!

This is now my 4th Dreame robot vacuum and each one keeps improving. I have tried numerous brands of robovacs and found Dreame to be the best as far as intelligence and cleaning power and the X40 Master is no exception to that. I also find that help support is very responsive and good to get you going or fix issues that come up. They are also very good at taking suggestions and making improvements to current and new models. I find the X40 to be particularly quiet compared to my previous models. The extra suction power is great and is accomplished by having the filter in the vacuum not covered by a screen. While this really improves the cleaning of your carpets, it does mean that I tend to regularly take out the filter and use a cordless blower to blow out the trapped dust to keep the suction high. This and very infrequently adding more detergent are the only maintenance that is required as both the fresh water and wastewater are tapped into your existing water and sewer supply so that you do not need to fill or empty any water containers. This model can be installed along a wall or hidden inside a cabinet, cupboard or closet with a cut out to allow the robot to come and go.Some of the highlights of this model are its ability to climb over large transitions in your floor area from one room to another. I appreciate this as there is a good-sized rise and drop going from our living area to the sunroom, that other vacuums just cannot get over. As well, it vacuums very well, and the mop cleans great due to the heating aspect of the mop pads and water to get tough grime off the floors. There are numerous built in object identifiers, and it tells me if I left my shoes somewhere or a power cord on the floor along with many other items and avoids them instead of getting tangled up with them. Obstacle avoidance on this model is best in class and even better than my L40, which I thought was great already. The app has many features to customize the cleaning schedule and room cleaning orders. You do not need to do these, but it is there if you want to. If you have not experienced a vacuum with extending mop pads and brush, then you will be very happy with how well this one gets into corners and along walls to get everything clean. The lidar system is top notch as well and with a live camera, you can view your home anytime you want to check in on things or see if there is something you left behind.The only things I see missing or lacking from this model is a retractable lidar to allow the robot to get under lower areas of furniture, it does not come standard with the tricut brush (although you can buy one and put it in), and having a UV light for cleaning (which no models that I am aware of have). These are more of a wish list and not necessarily cons for this model.Overall, the X40 Master is a solid 5/5 and with my critical wishes I give it a 4.5. Even if you already have a smart vacuum already, you will be impressed with this one.

Works great as a robot vacuum. Because it is plumbed, it means no more emptying and filling the dirty and clean water tanks, making it even less maintenance than other models. One thing to note is, the included Tee split for the water intake does not fit the standard Canadian 3/8″ plumbing fittings. I had to get one that does fit at home depot to complete the install.

This Dreame X40 Master Robot Vacuum system uses automatic refilling and draining for simple water control.It has a side brush that can reach into corners and under furniture.The RoboSwing feature extends up to 1.57 inches to clean under low furniture and in tight spots.This vacuum has strong 12,000Pa suction that picks up paper bits, litter, dust, and hair easily.The base station handles 8 tasks, all automatic, so you donât need to take it apart for cleaning.The OmniDirt system senses dirt and spills, then adjusts cleaning.It will remop dirty spots automatically and clean the mops afterward.This review took a long time to get to because this unit needs to be plumbed in to operate, just like a dishwasher.Not only does it need a water supply, power, and a drain, it also needs a hole cut in a cupboard to install it in.This needs to be close to the water, power, and sewer of course. This takes a while to plan and install.Once installed, this is the most amazing floor cleaner ever.It pops out to clean, pops back in to clean its mops, and refill.All the base needs is a soap refill.It’s VERY miserly with soap. It lasts a long time.There is another model, the same, but with storage tanks that you fill and dump manually.That will be easier for most people, since there is no installation like this model.This one is pretty magical once installed though. It was worth the effort ð

After using the Dreametech L10 Ultra for a while, I wanted a model that would fit my needs a bit better â especially with its ability to tackle both vacuuming and mopping efficiently in my home. The X40 picked up dust, debris, and crumbs easily, especially after I switched to a higher suction setting. I initially ran it on the standard setting, and while it cleaned well, it wasnât quite as thorough as I expected. When I moved it to turbo mode, it was a game changer. The navigation around furniture was precise, and the robot did an excellent job avoiding obstacles.
