Know the Application for These Fasteners
Donât mistake these Edge Deck Screws for standard top-down deck screws (like I did). These screws are designed to fasten the deck board from the side, not the top, although with care they can be used as top down screws with limited applicability since the head of these screws are much smaller than the standard deck screw youâre more familiar with.Note that 1-7/8â screws are designed for board thicknesses of 1â or less, so they are not suitable for standard 2âX 6â or 5/4â X 5.5â deck boards.Find a more suitable container for your unused screws; the cardboard box, although securely taped together for shipping is simply inadequate for long term storage/use where opening and closing the box will quickly deteriorate it as will the screws inside. The provided T-15 bit is great but go get more for any project where you think you might need to drive more than a handful of screws. This has nothing to do with the provided bitâs quality; bits do wear, however (resulting in âcam-out,â or stripping) and having extras on hand is prudent. Also, edge-fastening a deck can be done with a simple screw down and fastener bit, but edge fastening works best with guide tools and tools other than a homeownerâs utility screw gun.The bottom line is to do some homework, get some extra bits and use the right tools with these fasteners to end up with a professional looking job.Used properly, these fasteners are sturdy, straight, bore true and seat well. The bore is quick and easy and the fasteners hold your material in place firmly.

Reliable Screws That Made My Deck Project Go Smoothly
I used these screws for a small deck repair project and they performed better than I expected. I appreciated how easily they drove into the wood without slipping. The grip felt strong and the screws stayed in place even when I checked them later. I liked that they blended in nicely and did not draw attention once installed. The included bit fit perfectly and made the job go faster. I noticed that each screw held firmly and created a clean finish. Working with them felt straightforward and I did not run into any stripping issues. They gave me confidence that the boards would stay secure for a long time. I also used a few on a fence repair and they worked just as well. The coating held up fine during installation and did not flake. I found the overall quality to be consistent from piece to piece. I would buy these again for future outdoor projects because they made the work simple and dependable.

Good Set of Deck Screws, With Bit
Overall, these screws are excellent. The threads are well formed and consistent, resulting in reliable performance in the boards I tested. A notable benefit is the included driver bit, it’s long and fits my impact driver well. Highly recommended.

Would buy again
#10 x 1-7/8″ Hidden Deck Screws, 350Pcs Star Drive Countersunk Wood Screws, Rust Resistant Timber Screws, T15 Star Bit Included, BlackThe screws work well. Theyâre meant for edge fastening, but I have successfully used them for top-down fastening. I had some loose boards on a ramp I built for my shed. Regular deck screws just didnât seem to want to suck the boards tight. I tried a few of these on the boards, and they pulled the boards down nice and tight. The screws are self-drilling and went in smoothly. The small heads virtually disappear in the wood, which can be good or bad. Itâs good if you donât want the screws to be seen, but bad if you need to pull them out for some reason. The screws seem to be good quality with no burrs, splinters, or filled heads. $29.99 for a 350-count box is a pretty good deal for this type of screw. I would buy these again.

Strong, Easy to Drive, and Great for Outdoor Projects
Picked up these #10 x 1-7/8″ screws for a small deck repair, and they performed really well. The alloy steel feels solid, and the black rust-resistant coating gives them a clean look while holding up outdoors. They sink smoothly into ACQ-treated lumber without stripping or fighting the driver. The T15 star drive makes a big difference â no slipping, no cam-out, and much better torque than standard Phillips screws. The included bit is a nice touch and fits perfectly. The self-drilling tip grabs quickly, so youâre not wasting time pre-drilling unless the wood is unusually hard. The bidirectional thread design is impressive too. Once you set the screw, it stays put. No looseness, no backing out, even with vibration or shifting boards. They feel extremely secure once installed.Overall, these are excellent screws for decking, framing, fencing, or any outdoor wood project. Strong, stable, easy to work with, and they look good once installed. Great value for the quality.

Great Quality Black Deck Screws
These are really solid deck screws. These are great for wood or composite decking where a trim head is needed to sit flush with the finished deck surface. I got these screws for free through the Amazon Vine Program. I am paying almost $60 for a box of 350 screws from FastenMaster, so these screws are an amazing deal at half the price.I am contractor and I use these fasteners every day for many different projects. These screws are all black, so the only issue is that I need color-matched screws for most of my decks. I hope this company decides to make more of these in different colors soon!I recommend these fasteners for anyone that needs quality black deck screws.

Solid screws, easy to use
Can’t speak for strength since I’m not doing anything that might be expected to push screws to the breaking point, but these drive easily and bite well, and it’s not very tough to get the heads buried. The hold seems great so far and I don’t really have any complaints. A lot of the structural and deck screws seem to come with a driver head to fit them, these didn’t, but I don’t need more so that’s not a point against them in my book. (ETA: Actually, I was wrong, it comes with a pretty nice bit, like a full size power bit with the locking detent, not just an insert – it was just buried amongst the screws)
