What is the difference between 304 and 316 stainless steel screws?
304 stainless steel is corrosion-resistant and great for general outdoor use, while 316 stainless steel has added molybdenum, making it more resistant to saltwater and harsh environments.
Why do Eagle Claw Fasteners use a Torx drive head instead of Phillips or square?
Torx drive heads provide better grip, prevent slipping, and reduce stripping compared to Phillips or square drives.
Do I need to pre-drill holes before using stainless steel screws?
Pre-drilling is always recommended, especially for hardwoods and dense materials.

BUILT TO LAST WITH 304 GRADE STAINLESS STEEL – These deck screws are made from premium Type 304 (18-8) Grade stainless steel for superior strength, rust resistance, and long-lasting performance in fencing, decking, and all types of outdoor woodwork and construction applications
RELIABLE IN COASTAL, WET, AND OUTDOOR APPLICATIONS – Specifically recommended for use on decks, jetties, balustrades, walkways, and fences that are in coastal and high moisture areas such as rivers & estuaries. These stainless steel construction screws are built to withstand the elements and resist corrosion over time, lasting much longer than any other type of exterior wood screw
NO MORE RUST ON YOUR TIMBER PROJECTS – High corrosion resistance helps prevent ugly rust streaks and stains on outdoor timber, keeping your structures looking clean, polished, and professional season after season. Using ordinary screws for wood in coastal areas leads to them needing to be frequently replaced after they rust and stop providing the amount of safety and support that they should
VERSATILE PERFORMANCE ACROSS ALL WOOD TYPES – Designed for use with hardwoods, softwoods, or pressure treated lumber, including Redwood and Cedar. These 2 inch wood screws are ideal for fencing, framing, decking, and a wide range of exterior wood construction projects where strength and reliability are essential
DESIGNED FOR EASY, SECURE INSTALLATION – This set includes 2x star Torx drivers. The star drive head reduces cam-out and stripping while nibs under the head help seat the screw. These have a Type 17 point and are not self drilling screws, we recommended using pilot holes. The burnished finish gives them a clean, shiny look, adding to the visual appeal of your projects
Customers say
Customers find these stainless steel screws to be of great quality, with one noting they’re better than coated deck types, and they work well for various applications including fence pickets and coastal deck work. The screws offer good value, and customers appreciate their performance, with one mentioning they have no tendency to bind or snap during installation. However, durability receives mixed feedback – while some report no heads breaking off, others mention they break off almost every 10th screw. Additionally, bendability is also mixed, with several customers reporting that the screws bend easily during use.

CT Car Guy –
Good quality, good value, no surprises.
Bought package of 250 #10 x 2 1/2″ screws for attaching 5/4 cedar deck boards to pressure treated joists. I only predrilled/countersunk on board ends to prevent splitting. They started easily, was able to sink to 1/16″ below flush with 1/4″ impact driver, no deformed heads, and no sheared screws. I measured the screw shank under the head at 0.143″. I would buy these again!

Stainless screws
Good item, just what I was looking for to use for rebuilding my deck..

Worked Nicely.
I drove 2,066 of these screws with a 1/4″ Milwaukee impact driver.I was going through 9/16″ (pre-drilled) cedar into solid treated pine (not pre-drilled), countersinking the heads about 1/16″ below the surface of the cedar.Results:- 2,066 screws driven successfully- 5 stripped-out heads that would not drive- 1 malformed head that the Torx drive bit wouldn’t fit- Zero screws twisted offThe five stripped-out heads all occurred withing the first 150 screws, so I suspect that may have had something to do with my getting used to the impact driver. These screws are pricey, but they’re stainless and they work — at least, they did for me.

These are good quality stainless steel deck screws. I just needed more. After using “deck rated plated steel screws” which are ruining my deck and framing, only stainless from now on.

Stainless steel quality hardware
Wish these were a little bit cheaper but when u need a better weather resistant deck screw that is long enough to suck dock boards down and take the beating of the Chesapeake bay weather then itâs worth the cost to get the quality. I have re ordered these stainless steel screws several times over the years and have always been glad to have them where needed.

Excellent product
John Capobianco –
Great Price
Great value for the price. I don’t use galvanized screws outside anymore so these will be perfect and make it easier to replace dock boards on the lake when needed.

Evan Noble –
Great product. Bit was actually really useful and still useable. None of the screws stripped which is what I was expecting with softer stainless material. Used for boat repair.
Daniel Morgan –
Good quality stainless Steel screws
Tutone –
Used these while repairing a deck, the head uses a different type of screw head, which they provide, even though it is quite short…
Dale Asselstine –
I purchased these screws as I was looking for screws for outside use they worked perfectly for my project
Amazon Customer –
Bought these #10×3″ to install vinyl siding into a new ICF house that has an additional 1.5″ of insulation on the outside. So far they are working well and appear to be of good quality. They have not rusted. These were the lowest costing screws I could find. The #10 heads hold the siding well. The boxes included a short T25 torx bit which is working good for drilling into plastic studs.
