I call it a parachute because 10k mah is only good enough to charge a dead smartphone about 2 times max. Iâve reviewed over 6 dozen power banks and what I hate about the marketing spiel is the inaccuracies of the capacity. There is a lot of power loss and inefficiencies transferring energy from power bank to smartphone, at least 20%.At the end of the day, this power bank is almost a 5-star. It can put out higher voltage and wattage, which means faster device charging. I like the dual ports in/out, though USB-Micro is legacy now and almost irrelevant. I was able to get 12 volts @ 2 amps from the USB-A port. However, the USB-C port was finicky. Some cables and devices, it did not like â and juice would not flow.I performed a battery test where I emptied the power bank to 0% and recharged it fully â using an inline USB tester to measure the energy to restore the power to 100% or full charge. The result was 38 Wh (Watt Hours) â which is consistent with the amount of energy for a 8k mah power bank.In case you want to check the math: Volts x Amps = Watts. Typical batteries are nominally 3.7 volts x 10 Amp/hours = 37 Watt/hours. Since there are inefficiencies in charging batteries (losses to heat, mostly), the typical efficiency is 65-80%. 37 Wh / 80% = 46.25 Wh â would be the typical âtarget numberâ I am looking for, to recharge a 10k mah power bank. There are also some other small factors to consider but for the purpose of this consumer style test, weâd only be splitting hairs.Since the test was off the mark or target, I performed the test again. However, I got a very similar result. The capacity of this unit might be slightly overstated or the batteries used are not charging/discharging to full capacity.I really like the see-through design which makes something mundane like a power bank much more exciting and fun. There is absolutely no functionality in having see-thru – only aesthetics.While some people may think this is heavy, I think the weight is on par and/or acceptable. This unit is less than a half poundLess and less power banks have LEDs built in. Although I donât use it much, I find having an emergency lighting source while in a dark car, campsite, or during a power outage is helpful when needed. I think this is a great feature.If the USB-C wasnât so finicky, this would totally earn a 5-star rating from me. Although not fool proof, I like this unit a lot.If over long term use, my feelings change about this product, I will update this review. Thanks for reading and hope this helps.
