Works. No over-compression / vaccuum problem or smell as others reported. It turns out I needed far fewer than I got but that’s on me.For mounting, I found it useful to wire 3-4 together with tin wire then add a single nail on the top one. That’s stable while also doing the least damage to the wall. It did not require finding a stud.

Terrible Product
I bought this soundproofing cotton to improve my room’s insulation, but the experience fell far below expectations—it was downright terrible.1. **Overpowering Chemical Smell**: Upon opening the package, I was hit with a strong industrial chemical odor that filled the entire room. It was so unbearable that I had to move the product to the balcony to air out. Even after days of ventilation, the smell lingered, making me worry about potential health hazards.2. **Vacuum Compression Ruined the Material**: The product was so tightly vacuum-sealed that it lost its ability to rebound. I expected it to regain its original thickness once unpacked, but it stayed flat and thin like crushed cardboard. I even tried using a hair dryer to revive it, but nothing worked. With such poor material quality, it’s impossible to achieve the advertised soundproofing effect—a total waste of money.3. **No Adhesive Backing Included**: The most frustrating part? The seller didn’t include basic adhesive backing! I only realized this during installation, forcing me to spend extra time and money buying adhesive tape separately. For a product marketed as “easy to install,” this lack of essential components feels like a cheap shortcut.**Conclusion**: From subpar quality to the seller’s negligence, this purchase was a letdown. Unless you’re willing to endure toxic fumes, fix flattened material, and pay extra for missing parts, steer clear of this product. Do not recommend!

Nothing Special, except how nothing sticks to them and how flammable they are.
They aren’t any different from any other “acoustic” panel or claimed sound proofing panels. I will have to replace them eventually as i didn’t notice they were not fire resistant(so basically a waste of money to me) and even with gorilla double sided tape they still only stay on the ceiling about 70% of the time. My guess is that’s why they don’t come with adhesive cause then it’s not thier fault it doesn’t stick. No issues with decompressing though unlike other complaints(sample size 108 panels). If it matters i chose the shortest order time avialable and unpackaged as soon as they arrived. No panel of this type(any company or any foam) will ever help with sound “proofing”, foam panels help in reducing room noise from flat wall sound reflection not preventing sound between rooms. We didn’t buy enough to cover the space we used it on. But we will buy more as the first order was purchasedto see how it worked. We are doing the wall that has our neighbors bedroom on the other. Seems like they are perfect for our application, will buy more.
