    Sweet Folding Panel
This thing is sweet. Folds up into a backpack. I have the 200watt unit which gives me as much as 135 watts on a sunny day. This is exactly the amount I’m getting from another brand of 200watt portable power. This one just folds to holf the size to fit in my car camping rig better. I can plug my laptop directly into the usb-c port but usually run into my Renogy 50 amp dc to dc MPPT. I really love their products. Well made and thought out. Good price point. Very portable.

    Quality product. Very handy.
Very easy to set up and connect. Bought two and connected in series out in my driveway. Plenty of connection cord to reach my batteries, highly recommend these panels.

    Very handy
Working great so far, got it hooked up to a bluetti and it’s keeping an electric cooler running keeping drinks cold on a work site.Update, worked great for about a week before a spot burnt through on it and stopped working. Going through returns now. Might buy another one though, it was pretty convenient. Update Got a replacement sent, hoping the new one works great 👍.

Nice portable 200W panel, well designed and tests match the claimed specs
I spend a significant time working with solar components and do have a few Renogy products. I test all of them for performance and build quality, without preconceived expectations. This 200W panel/blanket tested fine, without any issues and performed at nearly max specs. Here are some of the results and also some thoughts on it.The build quality on this kit is pretty standard, not really a show-stopper in the design category, but a practical approach to laying out a foldable 8 panel design allowing for decent portability. The seller keeps a responsible approach towards advertising, without claiming it’s good for backpacking or hiking (something I do see in other seller’s ads). It’s definitely too large and heavy for that. It’s great for all of the uses mentioned in their title, though, so anywhere you can imagine using it in a scenario where you won’t be shlepping it around every day is great. Some of the pluses are that it’s actually very light and compact as cargo and it’s quick and simple to deploy. On another note, it’s awkward without having a flat surface you can angle towards the sun, on which to lay it, so consider either having a board or frame to add to the kit for simplicity and efficiency. One thought is to utilize the 12 tabs around the edge to attach to a thin PVC frame, or better yet, build one out of thin walled aluminum tube and use bimini hardware. The panels seem to not lay perfectly flat and that comes at a cost to efficiency, so if you’re spending a couple of hundred bucks on a nice panel like this, it’s absolutely worth spending a little more and dialing it in.As for the more technical aspects, it comes with standard MC-4 connectors and more than enough cord length, over 6′. The USB-A and USB-C ports work well and allow for independently charging other devices. In the power department, I was able to point it reasonably well towards the sun, two hours past peak, 90F, and other than a very light haze conditions were close to optimal. Results of the test were 192.5W, 16.6VDC at 11.6 amps, 18.2VDC open circuit. These are strong numbers, considering the panels have a tendency to cup and the lack of rigidity of foldable designs like this works against productive output. Creating a support structure for it, as mentioned above, should have this set-up producing power above the nominal specs and worth doing in my opinion. I noticed another review that was on this exact panel and I happened to own an identical tester, so that’s the one I used for the test. Fortunately, he also mentioned some atmospheric info, which nicely explains the differences in our results. His voltage was significantly higher, the result of a 15F degree difference, and he also has the panel laying on the ground, which likely had a significantly higher temperature than the box I used. It’s all just information and fortunately it actually is very helpful in confirming that this particular panel matches the claims. So, for a truly portable 200W panel in the neighborhood of $200, and from a company that has developed a good track record, this is quite a solid deal.

    absolutely fantastic design
First, don’t think you will be taking this on a backpack trip. Its just a touch too big/bulky for that. That said, you can definitely take this on a lot of different trips. Its not too heavy for like a backwoods canoe trip, a car camping trip, a boat trip, side car on motorcycle, etc. Its is a GREAT formfactor. Just not for backpacking where every ounce matters. It panels act as the carrying case when folded up. There is a small pocket on one panel that you can use to store small items. The plugs are the typical solar panel style plugs so it would be nice to have the tool to disconnect them included. I have several so not a biggie for me but not everyone will.I have several Renogy items and the quality is just as good. I am trying to think of a way to compare this to something you might be familiar with but that is hard to do. Its kind of a unique design. You will need a charge controller or some other device if you wish to use this with a usb charger or for charging batteries. I have a few compact mppt charge controllers and this has worked with the ones I have tried it with.I have used it on a few sunny and cloudy days. Obviously sunny days work best but I have still gotten a charge on cloudy/overcast days, just not as much.I have been ordering more and more of the Renogy products because they just work. The quality seems to be way up there and the design ideas are well executed. Their family of products work well together. I definitely recommend this portal solar panel/blanket/gadget as well as the other Renogy items I have used. I am even thinking about getting their portable 5000kwh battery/charge controller/invertor (on wheels).

    High quality, lacking other ports
Unfortunately, I don’t have the required cables to use this to charge my portable battery. So I can’t comment on how well it works with the output and all that. But based on the quality of the product itself I have no doubt it meets the claims. It is very high quality material, and just feels solid. It is heavier than I imagined without giving it much thought. But I’ve also never had 400W solar panels before, which would be much heavier. So in comparison this is actually very lightweight. It has nice handles to carry it too. And it folds up really compact. There are a bunch of mounting/hanging clips. So easy to unfold, and hang up or just lay out on the ground for mid-day.The critical areas I would touch on are the output cables and the price. High quality comes at a price. I do think you’re getting your money’s worth though. And I wish there were more ways to plug in, rather than the one type of cable (which I’m sure are standard for solar panels, I just don’t have the required adapters or anything to be able to use it).So overall, very good quality and portability. Lots of attention to detail. Just wanting more options of ports.
