Trying to reduce amount of plastic, especially microplastics, for anything that touches food. These cutting boards are thick and well made. Some of the edges could have used a bit more smoothing and why the four stars. Great value for three well made cutting boards. Wood is best as other non-plastic materials, like glass, dull kitchen knives. I’ll miss being able to stick boards in a dishwasher, but a small, worthwhile inconvenience.

Stands up to mindless abuse!!!!!
This is for a Scoisen 15 x 10 bamboo cutting board. This is a nice product. We’ve been completely abusing it for about a month now. Sharp knives, dull knives, things that should have stained it. Nothing is phasing it at all. There is now a collection of cut marks, but they are so shallow that you need the right light to even see them. I couldn’t even find the right angle to photograph them.The board came shrink wrapped with a paper band that actually looked like it belonged in a retail store!!! Think about that for a moment, when was the last time you ordered something from Amazon that came looking like it belonged in a retail store. Seriously the only thing missing was a UPC code. The board is true to measurement at 15″ x 10″ x 3/4″, actual imperial, not a metric approximation!!!! That thickness is not an approximation either, it is 0.75″ thick, and therefore quite stiff, not able to bend at all. Also no water warping.I foresee this cutting board being abused by us for many years to come. It has my full recommendation. The prices are right on the mark for this quality, looks like some of the competition is half as thick. Looking at options from Socisen I may even order a bigger one (that’s the highest compliment a vine reviewer can bestow).

I wasn’t planning to leave this out on the counter, but it looks good enough that I do. The bamboo has a nice finish, and it doesn’t slide around when I’m chopping. I’ve used one side for meal prep and the other for cheese boards, the groove catches juices well, and it’s easy to wipe clean. It’s nice as a little 2-3 person charcuterie in terms of size. It’s not a heavy-duty butcher block, but for daily cooking and a bit of entertaining it’s great. I haven’t experienced any warping yet either, but I wouldn’t soak this in water or overly dampen it to avoid that – generally a good rule of thumb with any bamboo or wood cutting board.

The board’s weight and thickness give it a satisfying sense of presence on the counter, not too bulky to move but heavy enough to stay put while chopping or slicing.On the flip side, quite literally there’s no juice groove, which makes it ideal when I need an entirely flat surface especially when laying out cheese, bread and cured meats for a casual charcuterie spread. The built-in handle cutouts make it easy to carry from kitchen to table without drama.Cleaning it has been straightforward. I simply rinse it under warm water, pat dry and lean it upright. No warping. No staining. No musty smells.I would not say it’s a showpiece but it quietly delivers exactly what I need in daily use. It’s attractive enough to leave out and functional enough to grab every time. For the price, it punches well above its weight.
