I cleaned off the factory oil, gave them a light wipe with CorrosionX for rust protection, and put a drop of Liberty synthetic oil on the pivots. After working them a few dozen times, they smoothed out nicely and feel much better than I expected for the price.I’m mainly using them for RC hobby work (tiny roll pins, light clamping, etc.), so they don’t need to handle automotive abuse. The handle dip is comfortable, doesn’t feel greasy, and seems durable enough for bench use.Out of curiosity, I looked up the manufacturer (Hangzhou GreatStar) and learned they also make tools for a lot of well‑known American brands. Makes sense now why the fit and finish feel decent for budget pliers.Overall, for light duty or hobby work, these are an excellent value especially if you give them a little prep when new.

I’m always concerned when buying sets like this. They’re usually pretty poor. Are the actual items in the set any good? Well they are. They are definitely well made and would be suitable if you’re just looking for a set to use around the house. I’m by no means a handyman however they suit my needs well. I recommend them.
