I bought this for my 2002 Toyota Tundra that the tailgate handle was broken on. I’d say it at least matches the quality of the OEM one so its a good option as a replacement handle. It is easy to replace on my truck anyway because its just some plastic tabs to pop out of the tailgate (which are easy to keep in good shape and not break) and a few screws to remove. So far after several months its held up and works fine, it fits and looks just like the original one did. Figured I’d leave a review because sometimes you just don’t know if these types of things are made cheaply or will break when you look at them wrong but this one is a good option if your current one is broken. Took me probably 30 minutes to completely do the replacement, most of that time is just removing the tabs and screws and then me trying to figure out how it was put together, so yeah go for it, anybody could do this repair.EDIT:After just a couple of months this handle has stopped working properly. Whenever I pull the handle it feels like it isn’t connecting with anything and the tailgate won’t open. I took everything back apart (which was more difficult since the tailgate wouldn’t open) and found that one of the internal mechanisms was stuck in a position that wouldn’t allow the handle to actuate it. I unstuck it and then the handle appeared to function normally again. I added a bit of extra lubrication which I hoped would help prevent that from occurring again. I re-assembled everything and tested it and everything seemed good and fixed. The following day the tailgate again would not open and the handle was stuck. Nothing will unstick it, beating on the tailgate area, pulling the handle harder or faster, etc. You have to take the entire tailgate apart to unstick it. So I can’t recommend this thing based from my experience perhaps yours will be better but this is incredibly annoying not having a functioning tailgate all the time. I am now purchasing an alternate brand and hopefully will have better luck.
