Fast and efficient
This computer was an easy set up right off the bat. Comes with windows 11 ready to go. Must turn off âsâ mode if you plan to download chrome or anything other than Microsoft edge; whenever you go to install chrome, it will prompt you to turn off âsâ mode.The computer is THIN and about 5 pounds lighter than my last. Itâs a big 15.6 inch, but seems smaller because itâs light. So itâs a plus, plus.So far, you canât get better for the price. Quality, speed, user friendly, all checks.Although, I use this for school and not for high speed streaming/gaming.Iâm not gonna follow up with this unless something wrong happens.

Zippy lightweight laptop, excellent for the price!
This laptop is fast, great screen quality. Easy to set up when it arrived. As long as you have internet it walks you through the rest. It comes with a trial version of Microsoft 365 for one month which gives you Word, Excel, etc. After one month, if you want to keep it, you are charged $100 per year which i did since i thought it was worth it to have all those applications. Also gives you Microsoft one drive to back up the computer, docs, pics, etc. It wakes up from sleep very quickly. I like that the keyboard has a number pad, nicer than the traditional lap top keyboard with the numbers at the top. Battery life is great as reported. Does not have a CD drive but no big deal. Have had for 2-3 months and would buy again.

Review for: Acer Aspire 5 A515-56-347N Slim Laptop – 15.6″ Full HD IPS Display – 11th Gen Intel i3-1115G4 Dual Core Processor – 8GB DDR4 – 128GB NVMe SSD – WiFi 6 – Amazon Alexa – Windows 11 Home in S Mode,Silver.This is not the fastest laptop, but it is functional and works well for the price. It has a very nice feature of allowing you to add an internal 2.5″ SATA HDD or SSD. It comes with only a 128 GB NVMe main drive, so the ability to add an additional drive is nice. I had a Samsung 500 GB SSD from my old laptop, so I will have plenty of storage. I got the Samsung drive to speed up my old (HDD) laptop, and it made a big difference. It was actually a little faster than this one with the Samsung SSD. I wish I had made the Samsung drive the boot drive before I got the laptop all set up. But with the NVMe drive I thought it would be a bit faster than my old machine. This is not painfully slow, just not peppy. Using the Samsung SSD as the main (C) drive may have made it faster. I may change it over later. It has one DDR4 slot that is populated with a 4 GB DIMM. There is 4 GB down, giving the machine 8 GB total. I replaced the 4 GB with a 16 GB DIMM. It is built well for an entry level product. The screen bright and crisp. It has a good port selection and even has an Ethernet port. A lot of newer laptops don’t have an Ethernet port. It also support WIFI 6. It comes with Windows 11 Home in S mode. I didn’t notice the S mode in the description. Thank goodness you can deactivate this mode, or this laptop would have been returned. S mode only allows Microsoft approved apps to be installed. For example: I use Firefox browser, and in S mode I couldn’t install it. There are several others I use that wouldn’t install. I noticed the price dropped $21 from the time I ordered this laptop until today, when I started to write this review. I called Amazon to see if they would refund or issue a credit for future Amazon purchases. To my surprise Amazon’s previously stellar customer service has changed. They say they don’t do price matching. I believe price matching is if the product is found at a different store at a lower price. This price change is within Amazon. Amazon wouldn’t budge. I did get to a supervisor and she read from the same script (exact verbiage) as the first person I talked to. Supervisors used to have some leeway, like a small gift card for this type if issue, but apparently not any more. I guess Amazon is not interested in customer satisfaction like they used to be. I thought about reaching out the supplier, but decided it is not worth the effort for only $21.

this is a great laptop for anyone
I love Acer computers, this was a gift to a young man going to college, I originally bought it for myself, my keyboard is toast on my old acer [have had it for 10 years and used daily] I circumvented the problem for now with a gaming keyboard and just plugged that in to my laptop! LOL works great as you can see, I will be buying a acer laptop next month as I intend to use my keyboard on my desktop! Acer is the only laptop I will consider buying because they last longer, they update great and are a great computer for the money! this laptop does everything I want it to and last for years!

Died within months
Computer wouldn’t turn on anymore. Randomly one day I wanted to use it and it never turned on. Looked up ways to fix and did every method but still wouldn’t work. Contacted Acer and they didn’t help. Asked me to send it to them for repairs but at that point I was over it. Just save up for a better laptop/computer.
