Great Protection
Been using this for several months with no problems. Really protects my floor which previously was getting chewed up by the wheels of my chair. Does slide a few inches, but I just need to scoot it back in place about once a week.

Does what it is supposed to do.
Seems to work fine; followed directions and rolled backward; placed under chair. It flattened out nicely within a day or less. Have had no trouble with it sliding; my chair stays on the mat and it protects the floor.

The stench returns
UPDATE-downgrade to 1 star: About 2 months after I wrote the original review the smell came back with a vengeance. I tried various cleaners, sun-baking, etc. to no avail. I am tossing this and going for the tempered glass matOriginal Review was 3 stars: From the moment I unpacked the box this mat stunk. I left it in the garage for a week, I wiped it down with lysol, I tried Windex, and nothing worked. I thought it dissipated enough and put it in my office. I love this mat for my hardwood floor. But the next day my office had that smell that even the air purifier couldn’t get out. I finally took it outside and scrubbed it with Dawn on both sides and let it bake on the driveway in the sun for 3 hrs on each side. That finally did the trick. It shouldn’t have had to be this hard to get rid of the smell, but the mat is the perfect size and thickness.

Does not protect flooring well.
I used this mat for about 1 month. My LVP flooring was ruined underneath. I am not sure if it is too thin or if it does not work like it should. It did not protect my flooring at all.

Works as expected
I had doubts given othersâ reviews but this works great. Firstly, no terrible smell. No off-gassing or anything like that. Secondly it being shipped rolled up was fine. Does one have to follow the instructions, yes. Let it be at room temp for a couple of days, check. Unroll then âreverse roll,â check. Tiny edges arenât perfect BUT give it a few hours, check. Lies flat! Also, it is on the buyer to recognize there are different versions for different surfaces. I needed it on hardwood so it does not have little âspikesâ that would be necessary on a carpet.So, pay attention to what you are buying, follow instructions, and you will be good (at least on hardwood). Or spend a whole lot more to get tempered glass (or whatever those are actually made of).

We have been using this chair mat for a few months. Our office chair sits well on it. It did smell lightly when we spread it over our wooden floor. However that scent dissipated in a few days. We like it a lot. It covers the area specifically where we needed it. The chair glides on it without difficulty.

If I had one complaint with regards to this floor mat it would be that it differs in size compared to its replacement. Yes it is a advertised being 48 inches in length and 36 inches wide, but the cutout for the extension was different that my older floor mat. And since I happen to have a piece of ¼â wood underneath the floor mat due to it being on a carpeted surface, the difference is noticeable.For anyone purchasing new and just putting it under an office chair that happens to be on a hardwood floor or laminate surface, the size would be of no consequence in a new application.

It was rolled up when shipped to me. It was easy to roll out and put on the floor. It covers a good area, but 6 inches in each direction would be better. But it does do the job , the chair easily rolls over this product.
