Best natural shampoo I know of.
I’ve tried Desert Essence coconut shampoo and find that this one feels more natural. This one is also much less expensive if we consider the dollars per ounce calculation.I wanted to avoid harsh chemicals and this shampoo has the least amount of chemicals based on my extensive research. Just look at the main ingredients and I believe them. It smells natural and even feels natural. Once you get so used to natural products you can’t go back to synthetic shampoos. Your body starts to become sensitive to synthetics and you can feel the harsh chemicals.This shampoo is perfect. Now I’m a bald guy but I still need shampoo because the scalp has sensitive skin unlike the rest of our body. Normal soaps would leave it too dry and flaky but shampoo does the trick. Fortunately for me I only need a dime size amount!Pros1. Inexpensive.2. Gets the job done.3. Haven’t had any quality issues.Cons1. Wish they had more options. I’m okay with Coconut Ginger but just wish they had more flavors. Whatever works right?So recently I decided I need to write more reviews as a way of giving back to the community. I figure my decisions are usually based on the number of reviews, I might as well do my part. My purchase decisions are based on:1. How many reviews does it have? More is better, it means lots of people have tried this product.2. The percentage of 1 or 2 star reviews? Over 10% is a red flag.3. The average star rating, higher is better.4. Top sellers in its category, I usually buy the top 10 and weigh in everything else above.5. Depending on the product and how important it is to me, I’ll also look for independent reviews from 3rd party websites who specialize in testing products.

Wife with long hair here. Typically my hair gets greasy after 24 hours but it responds really well to this shampoo–I don’t use the conditioner at all yet I can still get out the tangles easily and my hair doesn’t get greasy. Though it is made from coconuts there is not a coconut smell.

Be Very Careful with this High pH Soap-Based Shampoo
This shampoo is soap-based (like a shampoo bar), so it’s not like most shampoos that are detergent-based. I wanted to love this due to it’s short ingredient list. However, what happened was that it turned my hair to complete straw, and not even the strongest conditioner or ACV rinse could help. It would totally make a crunching noise when I touched it. After doing some research, I found a great Youtube review of this shampoo that explains perfectly why this stuff sucked the life out of my hair – the pH. Our hair naturally has a lower pH, and when you wash your hair with something that has a higher pH, it can dry it out. Well, the reviewer tested this stuff and it ended up with a result of 10 – 11! No wonder why my hair hated it. This is the same reason why I can no longer use shampoo bars or any other soap-based shampoos, the high pH is just too high and throws my hair all out of whack.My hair is color treated with natural henna and indigo and is slightly longer than BSL (bra-strap length) with a texture of normal and thick.For anybody with the same issue as me – give co-washing (conditioner washing) a shot. I just started to do this and my hair is amazing! And what’s great is you can get away with using the cheapest drug store conditioners like Suave and VO5 – no reason for expensive co-washes like Wen!

I ordered a shampoo and a conditioner. So first I used the conditioner after my reg shampoo and was unimpressed. Then i got the shampoo and was not expecting a good lather or nice hair. But TOGETHER THEY ARE MAGIC!Great lather, squeeze out, apply conditioner, brush through wet, let dry naturally -its not frizzy! Or use an iron, looks great!! Will buy again 🙂
