Keeps people from messing with the temps
Bought this because as a father and husband I was tired of anyone messing with the thermostat. It was easy to mount to the wall and works as intended. I did eventually give my wife a key but the temps stay where I set them now. A bonus is I see this brand everywhere like hotels and my work….my key works on other Honeywell covers, not sure if the key is the same on all of them but I find this fact LOL. Bought a 2nd just for the keys because I lost mine before as well.

Clearly a Good Choice
The guards are larger than what the picture had shown. The picture says “Medium” and indicated a more rectangular-shaped box…so I had expected something conforming closer to the shape of my medium-sized Honeywell thermostat. What was sent, and what actually matches the part number is a “Large” square-shaped thermostat guard. I think what me as the consumer was expecting was a medium-sized guard. But what Honeywell was intending was a guard that fits medium-sized thermostats…which it does….and…also fits large-sized thermostats. So, it is actually a large guard. The quality of manufacture is fine. The lock is fine. It is not meant to be a bullet-proof vault. It is only meant to keep most wandering fingers from adjusting the temp. Yes, if you wanted to, you could just pull it off the wall…but if that is your problem, then you have larger problems with your customers.The guard looks nice installed. It is not grossly too big. It was easy to install. Other reviews are correct that it is not “hinged” per se. It has tabs on the top that fit together…but when you unlock it, the cover does just fall right off. I think it’s still ok because we are only intending on changing the thermostat twice a year…once for heating mode and once for cooling mode. It is also a great price!

It performs the function that I bought it for: deterrence.
I was hesitant to buy this because of all the criticizing reviews that stated that it will not stop any adult who is determined to rip or knock it off the wall. That critique is 100% true. I could easily take a hammer, a small pot, just about any blunt object and knock this box off the wall.My father has dementia and was constantly changing the house thermostat settings.After installing this product, my family found that just its presence, and the box locked up, deters my father from changing the thermostat settings. We’ve realized that he’s not so far gone with his dementia that he will consciously perform damage to the house because his stubbornness wants the thermostat set a certain way. So, this product successfully performs its function for our family.

Too bulky too big
I have a small round thermostat and had a hard time finding anything compatible. The case is very big and deep. Strange design, the top part of the case easily comes undone when unlock in a surprise manner. At first, I thought I broke the case, just to realize it was a poor not well-thought design. Imagine, you unlock the case, opened the case and the top portion of the case came from its plastic hinges as i it got broken, you than have to place the top portion back into hinges and lock the case as the top portion won’t stay open in unlock position.

Me ha gustado pues cumple su función a buen precio. Hay que tener en cuenta que no tiene bisagras. Esto para mi es bueno, porque tengo otras con bisagras y es por donde se rompen asi que me quedo con esta. Hay que tener cuidado porque al abrirlo se despega la cara frontal. También puedes tener la cara quitado para algunas ocasiones y asi no tener la puerta abierta con riesgos.
