Customers say

Customers find the sprayer simple to use and easy to assemble. However, the functionality and build quality receive mixed reviews, with some saying it works well while others report it doesn’t work at all and is cheaply made. Moreover, the build quality is concerning, with reports of the handle breaking off and the hose connection coming apart in less than a minute. Additionally, customers report significant leakage issues, with water spraying all over from connections, and sturdiness problems with the foam attachment falling off and the straw falling out of the top. The value for money is also mixed, with some finding it excellent while others say it’s not worth the price.

    Fantastic Sprayer Wet and Dry!
Construction on the sprayer is solid, and I don’t foresee any major breakage issues under normal usage. The handle is extremely comfortable, and the on/off spray switch is well-placed for your thumb and easy to use. Cleanup was a snap. The sprayer has three different built-in nozzles. The bullet nozzle isn’t a power washer and isn’t intended to be one, but enabled me to spray about 20′ up into the trees.I didn’t care for the fan sprayer on the lawn, but discovered that it’s great for shrubs and smaller plants. The gentle rain nozzle worked best on the lawn, giving a wide distribution pattern and finer spray. The liquid mixing instructions might be a little confusing for somebody not used to calculating them, but once figured out it becomes very obvious. The dry powder setting worked on ferrous sulfate, which is coarse and difficult to spray.

    TIME!!
Cuts my car wash time in half with great results. However, if your hoping to use this and avoid scrubbing your vehicle all together , this product is not gonna do the job. You would need a pressure washer. This foam gun wont completely remove dirt in and of itself, but it makes it easier to do so. It softens the outer layer of dirt so its easier to remove, but its still not entirely bulletproof. You still have to scrub some parts of the vehicle that are harder to reach.Still a great buy for a reasonable price. Looked Good But Created More Work
Bought the 6005 in May 2017, thinking it would replace and at least perform as well as my then old broken Ortho sprayer. Unfortunately, this (6005) sprayer leaked from day one and will not remain connected to the hose when I’m using it, causing water to gush from around the too-shallow plastic water hose connector. No matter how carefully I screw on the sprayer for a good solid connection, the slightest movement or bend breaks the connection. Luckily I have another but different model Ortho sprayer that still gets the job done without unnecessary “stop & go” hassles. Also, the 6005 has an “Off” dial position that doesn’t turn off anything. On my Ortho sprayers, setting the dial in the “Off” (horizontal east or west) position turns off all waterflow completely, thus, permits easy, wet-free removals of the canister for refills, etc. Not so for the 6005. I have to walk up to 150 feet back to the faucet, turn off the water, then remove the canister for refills, that is, if the aforemtioned 6005 and hose connection remained in tact, which was very rare. Based on my experiences, I am disappointed and wouldn’t recommend this item.

Okay for residential use only, could easily be less expensive..
The “quick disconnect” brass fitting is defective, coming apart in lesss than a minute after the hose was pressurized. It is a useless addition for most residential users as an additional shut off valve must be installed adjacent to the sprayer connection. No immediate means of shut off requires you to walk back to the hose spigot anyway. Useful as teats on a boar and adds cost w/o benefit.

A great alternative to a pressure washer foam cannon
This works really well for washing the cars. I have a SunJoe electric pressure washer with a foam cannon, but it is kind of a pain in the tuchis to bring it out of the yard shed, connect everything, use the foam cannon, wash the cars and then put everything away. I bought this from Amazon, bought a gallon of inexpensive Zip Wax car wash from WalMart, set the dilution ratio to ‘3’ and started washing. I foamed and washed the cars in sections so the foam would not dry on the paint. Lots of thick suds on the car, I used a microfiber sponge to wash, and then used the quick-connect to disconnect the sprayer from the hose nozzle to rinse. Very satisfactory results, and much easier than using the pressure washer foam cannon. I get thicker suds with the pressure washer foam cannon, but I cannot say this results in a cleaner car than using the Chapin sprayer.

    Good quality, works great!
Good quality components and design, works fine with low pressure hose from a well. Plenty of foam set on 3, and uses very little Maguiars soap. No leaks so far. Would buy again. Whoever designed this really knew what he was doing, and then it was built with first class components. Makes car washing easy and fun.

    Excellent customer service, honors warranty!
I was extremely pleased with this product for the last month I’ve used it. The straw on the inside of the bottle fell out of the body of the unit from time to time, but that was quickly fixed. However, today I was using it and the handle completely snapped off of the body of the unit when I slid the hose button from on to off. Clean off, and is now completely broken.I called Chapins customer service line on a Saturday afternoon. A nice woman answered the phone (who sounded based in the USA) and was extremely helpful. They are sending me a new unit on Monday no questions asked. Can’t ask for better service than that.Would give a perfect five stars but the handle may be a little flimsy. I sincerely hope the new sprayer doesn’t break because it is great at what it does. Thank you Chapin for sending me a replacement!

Worked as advertised, lots of suds, I set mine at #4, can use powdered laundry soap with water and mix throughly before use. Used also to spray bleach and soap. I use also concentrated vehicle soap. May need to support bottle when full on its neck because its made of hard plastic.

Used it for 5 minutes out of the box perfectly fine. Then started rinsing with the foam canon detached. Re-installed the foam canon and it started leaking from the quick release like the other videos. You could in theory buy your own quick release or just attach it to the canon without it.

I use this with lemon dish soap a little watered down, to spray the commonly urinated areas of our backyard to keep the smell down. Works better than the other 2 containers I bought for this reason, at half the price.

Piece of junk! Sprayer has no pressure, I bought it to wash my horse, utterly useless.

Foams up nice. Very easy to use. Just have to be careful on the foam setting because it can go through the soap pretty fast.
