Customers say
Customers find the dye works well on leather furniture and is easy to apply, making sofas look almost brand new. The color match and scratch coverage receive mixed feedback – while some say it’s a perfect match and covers scratches effectively, others report it doesn’t match and doesn’t hide scratches as expected. The product dries quickly but can peel off after a week, and while some find it worth the price, others say it’s not much product for the cost.

Good prep work leads to great results.
This turned out amazing! I had no experience in doing this, but I think success is found in doing all the steps carefully. Like anything, good prep work leads to great results. Clean, deglaze and no need for over application. A couple of spots needed a second coat after a little dry time, and blended perfectly. With one bottle, I was able to do two recliners and likely have enough left to do a couple more. Great way to save money by refurbishing, instead of buying new furniture. Iâll apply conditioner after the suggested wait time and these recliners will look almost new again.

Color match is lighter.
A great product except hard to match to my BMW e46 leather arm rest. It is lighter than the grey upholstery I have however it is easy to use and coverage is great.

Clydes works very well!
Can be a bit challenging to match with the biege color of my car, but once I found the right color, it worked so well. I have used Clydes before on a black interior and it was so easy and made my interior look new again. There is no color transfer either once dry. Truly an amazing product!!!

Good color.
Did not hide the scratches as expected. Will try again several times to see if there’s any changes in covering.

Didn’t work for me
I spent over $60 on Clydes products (Leather Prep and Deglaze and Light Beige Leather Recoloring Balm) to try to repair my cream leather chair that has a stubborn sunscreen stain. First impression was that the product sizes were ridiculously small (see photo with ruler). The Leather Prep was 2oz or 4 tablespoons to remove the leather factory finish. Although I was working on a small area of the chair, I barely had enough product for the job. The Recoloring Balm is 1.7 oz. Second observation was that the Leather Prep smells an awful lot like pure acetone. The ingredients are acetone, methanol and ethanol at a cost of $29.99 for 2 oz! But I tried to think positively and followed the directions to the letter. The factory finish (together with the sunscreen stain) came off with the Leather Prep. I then moved on to the Recoloring Balm. The light beige was more of camel color than an off white. Using a very small amount on the foam sponge provided, it went on unevenly and the resulting splotchy color was just as unsightly as the original sunscreen stain! I cleaned the leather again for a second try but had the same unsatisfactory result. This product may work if you are changing the color of a light leather item to a darker color but please note how expensive it is. I wish I had put the money I spent towards a new chair.

Seems to be great product
This worked wonderfully on my Lazy Boy Recliner. Unless it is Italian leather it is just painted. We will seek how long it last. Water based dye/paint. I use a soft 2â brush to spread and blend. Perfect match. Easy cleanup.

Looks like new
The leather balm works fabulous. I just finished my love seat and still need to do the sofa. It took two bottles for the love seat
