Customers say
Customers find these compost bags work well, particularly with 2-gallon buckets and kitchen green waste, and appreciate their quality and compostability. They are strong enough to hold entire compost pails and offer good value, with one customer noting they come in a large-size package of 100 units. While some customers report the bags never leak, others mention they leak a bit. The durability receives mixed feedback, with some finding them durable while others say they tear too easily.

Durable and reliable econ bags
We used up the old econ bags for kitchen scraps and decided to try another brand. Came across this one online and saw many good reviews about it. The price was also very reasonable. So I placed the order on Saturday night to give it a try. The bags came Sunday afternoon, just in time as I already used the last bag from inventory. Our previous bags say they are biodegradable, but leak several times after we throw in the food scrap with some moisture into the bags, or do not take out the bags after two days – the moisture just sips through and then the bag falls apart at the bottom. You can imagine there’s a mess to clean up, plus I need to double-bag the broken bag! This bag also says it’s biodegradable, but I feel it’s thicker than the other brand, which is a good sign. The bag can still fit our disposal bucket, but I wish it is slightly taller so it won’t fall in if I put much stuff at once. When I take out the scraps after two days, there’s slight moisture inside the bucket, which is similar to the situation previously, but the bag holds up very well. – 1. it did not fall apart; 2. the bottom did not get “translucent”, which indicates the bag was at the brink of breaking; 3. it still held up when I stretched the top to tie up the bag. I was really impressed.Overall, I am very happy with the bags in terms of speed of their delivery and product quality of the bags, and will definitely recommend to others who want to try econ bags for kitchens. The only suggestion I may have is to have the bags folded individually inside the box, instead of in a roll. Sometimes, my hands may be full or dirty when I try to get a new bag out of the box. Having it in the roll would be less convenient than having the bags already folded individually. But this may increase the complexity in production. So I can live without it. Thank you, Primode!!

Great biodegradable bag!
I’ve been using these bags for a couple of years now and they’re just a great, solid biodegradable bag! I can’t imagine switching to another one any time soon. I use these for bagging my compostable food waste as well as other compostable items (kleenex, papertowels, paper napkins, etc.) and I find you can pack them surprisingly full and they hold up very well. I rarely ever have one leak and I do put quite a bit of liquid in them from time to time (i.e. milk that’s gone bad). To be on the safe side I set the bag in something (like a countertop compost bin or a plastic grocery bag) to catch the very rare leak. I’m always amazed at how long the bags last with food in them – for us it’s easily 2-3 weeks. We drop off our compostable items once a month and because of that timing, we also frequently freeze the full bags and we never have any problems. Again, we set them in something so they don’t tear or rip when we take them out of the freezer. Any item that’s long or spiny or sharp corners (i.e. pineapple leaves, fennel stalks, big rosemary sprigs, watermelon rinds), we definitely cut to smaller pieces because it will easily poke through the bag, but we don’t feel that’s a hassle. Overall an excellent product and great value for the price!

Don’t overbuy
I bought these bags in 2017 and they were okay. Those leaked a lot and couldn’t handle a long time with food in them. Bought again in 2019, this time the 300 count. These bags were a lot more sturdy and didn’t leak as often. Then last year the bags started ripping constantly when I was trying to take them out of the roll. The top would split open, the bottom would split open when trying to get air in the bag to put in the trash container. I would have to get two or three bags until one would not split on the bottom. Now, all of them always split open. I am going to buy it again because they are great in the beginning, but after 3 years the humidity has made them unusable so I will look for a 100 count and buy them more often.

Utter garbage. Split every time, spilling contents.
These are literally the worst bags Iâve ever bought in my entire life. They split down the side every single time, dumping the contents everywhere. Itâs more like a sheet of thin flimsy material than an actual bag. These are utter garbage, and not even capable of holding your garbage! Save your money and buy a different brand.

1 year later
I purchased these in May of 2022. I’m just now almost out and shopping for another refill. We use these in a countertop compost container and change them weekly and I use them for cat litter at times.I have 0 complaints after 1 year of use. They work great. They’ve lasted me over a year too, so that’s incredible. They hold up well to standard use. Like I said, we change them about weekly depending on compost accumulation. The bag is still holding up at a week. Will it leak if we put liquid in it and let it sit for a week? Yes. That’s expected.Rip? Yes. They rip if I’m rough on them and rip them out of the compost contrainer when they’re stuffed full. That’s expected too.Gonna buy these again. Would recommend.

Practical and convenient
This compostable waste bag is the perfect size for the compost pail I keep on my kitchen counter. It doesn’t rip or tear even with egg shells or bones. The bag does “sweat” causing condensation while in the pail but it is the right thickness to keep the contents contained without spillage.

I was happy when I saw these online, I thought they would save me a trip to Costco. I was wrong. First off, they are a little smaller than the other brand but I can’t work with that. What I can’t work with is that about half of them are already ripped, or sliced open along the seams. I’ve ended up throwing out at least every second one, if not more. The kicker is, I bought them to replace a box I was using, and because I didn’t get to them for a while, I passed the return window. Save yourself the frustration and don’t buy these bags.

All the bags have holes on either side.
