The perfect cat window hammock
I have 5 fully grown inside cats at the present time. They range in size from small to really large. One that weighs only 13 pounds loves to look out the windows, but he would have to sit on the uncomfortable window ledges.I wanted a hammock type window seat for him, but one that could also accommodate my 20+ pound cats. I also needed one that was foldable, so I could lower the blinds or close the curtains at night. This cat window hammock is perfect. The fabric is extremely soft, reversible and the top and bottom of the cover attach to each other with Velcro. This makes it so convenient to remove the cover to wash it.I love the way this window hammock attaches to the window with 4 extremely strong suction cups instead of those braces some perches used. The directions on how to put it together that came in the box were terrible. I was completely confused until I watched the video that the company had made on how to assemble it. This video was great. Putting it together after that was so simple.I have nothing but good things to say about this product. The 13 pound cat already loves it, and Iâm sure the others will soon be using it.

My Cats Love This Perch
What I Like:1. Perch is sturdy. Metal frame, heavy duty fabric, cup that have good suction.2. Perch is larger than most. I have two cats. They have many perches, but they wanna fight over all of them. This one’s large enough to hold both and I don’t worry it’s gonna fall.3. Just make sure to soften the suction cups in VERY HOT water and attach to clean glass. Mine hasn’t budged in the three weeks I’ve had it.4. Perch flips up so I can close curtains.5. Cover is removable and washable. The hook and loop material keeps the cover on the perch despite the daily fights it hosts. What I Dislike:1. Price of $30.68 at time of review seems pricey. While it’s a couple inches longer and wider than most, the rest of the construction is similar to all the rest: metal frame, suction cups, rigid plastic supports.

(Install tip in review) Our feline overlords approve
Wasn’t sure about this one, but figured it would be worth a try.Install tip: Make certain window is spotless, and especially, make certain to moisten the suction cups slightly with water before attaching to window. Otherwise, you may not get a good enough seal for the purpose. We have two rescue cats, both with quite a bit of Maine Coon in them. As such, they are not fat, but they are quite large, with one checking in around 16lbs, and his sister at around 14lbs. I was not certain cat bed would be up to the task. After cleaning the window and attaching, we noticed one side slid down. This is when we moistened the suction cups. Since then, it has been used regularly, and has held with no sign of sliding/falling.Both cats have spent time in their new sun drenched perch, but sister cat especially loves it. I suspect it’s because she can rest without concern of her brother getting rambunctious and disturbing her. Apologies the contrast is is blown out in the pic…she was backlit by the sun at the time, and this was the only way I could get her and the bed from being too dark.Happy cats, happy hoomans, so we love it!

It Works, but the Instructions are Poor
I’m pretty good making flat pack stuff, but making this took a few false starts. The only instructions are one small card with one small diagram and a couple of lines of cryptic text. The vertical brackets have screw holes that have a flat side and a a side with a couple of concentric rings. The rings go on the inside, I found that out the hard way. There are also three straight rods. Two have spring knobs on one end and screw holes on the other. Those make up the back of the frame, the rod with two spring knobs is on the front. Threading the screw through the rod that mates to the vertical is difficult. I thought I was going to need three hands to get it done, but managed with the two I had.One of the suction cups did not want to screw into the nut, but when I changed the nut it worked.Once attached to the window, it did support the weight of our 16 lb cat, but she left while I was getting the camera out. I plunked our smaller cat in there and she stayed long enough to take pictures. Neither stayed there long, but the smaller cat likes to sit in that window and watch the deer when they are in the side yard. I’ll leave it up and see if one or both cats start to use it.

New favorite napping place
One of my cats finally gave this bed a chance and decided it is her new favorite napping place. I see her snuggled up in this bed several times per day.The product seems good. I have several other cat beds that all have a stiffer base. This one is more like a hammock. It took a few days and putting my cats in the bed when they were calm a few times to get them to give it a chance. I assume this is because they are used to more support. This bed seems like it would be more comfortable to me, but my cats also like to use a brick as a pillow, so what do I know!I really like the profile of this bed. The suction cups are all together instead of having a wire that has to go a foot up. This really opens up the placement options!Assembly was easy enough. I felt the instructions were clear. I am good at putting things together though.Overall, it’s a hit. Would buy more.

It was simple enough to assemble and feels of good quality. Looks like it would be comfy for a cat to snooze on. It did come with instructions which were basic but did the job. I did soak the suction cups in warm water for about 10 minutes prior to installing it on the window as recommended in the instructions. They stick to the window much better than I expected to be honest. When it’s not in use I simply fold it up and put my blinds back down.I have had trouble with getting my little furry nuisance to actually use it though. I’m surprised because she likes looking out that particular window and up at the various different poles and looking at the birds on the cables and chittering away for ages.I’ve no concerns of it falling off and it definitely holds her weight easily enough but I’ve only witnessed her using it for mere seconds so far. It’s been frustrating but eventually curiousity will get the better of her and she’ll use it. I will persevere in trying to get her to use it.
LEA AND BAZ –
When I ordered this window-mounted cat bed I think it was around £13 but it is now showing as unavailable. Assembly was very easy, all I needed was a regular Phillips screwdriver to tighten the screws. At first, I thought the fabric was too big, but I quickly realised that itâs designed that way so it hammocks nicely when the cats sit in it.The suction cups have great holding power in the centre, but the outer edges donât sit completely flat, even after following the instructions and soaking them in warm water. Because of that, the left side tends to drop slightly and slowly slides down the window while my cats are using it. It hasnât fallen off and still feels secure, but itâs a little annoying having to reposition it now and then. The bed also came with glow in the dark stars, which is a cute idea, but honestly I barely notice them. They donât really add much unless youâre looking for them. For the price, itâs good quality and my cats do enjoy lounging in it, but I wish the suction cups stayed perfectly flat to keep it level.
Slightly Dotty –
Being a multi cat household I find my cats dotted around on their towers or beds but have never had one of these for them to try out. I was very happy to be offered the opportunity to try out this brilliant suction cat hammock and said yes straight away. The order arrived quickly and is in several pieces that need to be put together all housed in a neat box.The instructions leaflet provided was not the greatest so some mental problem solving was needed but it is fairly basic to understand how it all fits together.I wasn’t sure if the cats would deliberately ignore it as cats are well known for being contrary creatures but within 10 minutes of attaching the hammock to the window one of them had laid claim to it as her new vantage point to survey her slave (me) and the lesser creatures (the dogs) and seems quite happy with it.The suction provided by the 4 heavy duty suction cups is really impressive and there was no sliding or movement with any of the 3 heavy lumps trying it out.The cats and I are all very happy with the hammock, its strength, size and great value and so are happy to recommend it.

First the positives⦠this is a well made, solid cat seat, and Iâm confident it is sturdy enough to safely hold one of our big hefty 5kg cats. Thatâs really important stuff. My husband was delegated to build the thing, and he found it easy to assemble. He remarked that to make the suction cups adhere to the window, he had to warm them in water, and that was easy to do, and the suction cups have not budged since they were applied to the window. The slight downside is that after a week of being installed.,.. none of my cats have shown any interest in using this seat whatsoever, and thatâs surprising because ordinarily a new basket or box is pretty hot property among our feline community. I honestly canât see why that would be the case: it doesnât smell, the fabric looks comfortable enough. In the name of scientific enquiry, weâre moving the seat to another window to see if that makes a difference. I will, of course update this review if the cats start using the basket, but to date they have not done so.
ReviewsByMe –
We have 3 cat and already had one cat hammock which is very popular but only fits one cat at a time so this was very welcomed when it came up on the Vine program for me to review. What I really like about this hammock compared to our older one is that this has the functionality to fold up out of the way when not in use (or if on bifold doors like ours to open the bifold doors without removing it!).To put together is simple. The instructions included are fairly brief but just connect the rods together and into the two mounts. Then pull over the fabric covering and velcro fasten in place. For the suction cups I had trouble at first with 2 of them which did not want to stick to the window. They were flat whereas the 2 that worked were concaved. I put all 4 in a pot of hot water (near boiling from kettle but not quite) and after few minutes had softened. I then fixed on window again and did not press them firmly on but let them stick themselves and left them for good few hours to set. That has worked and takes cats weight no problem (heaviest cat is 5.5kg).
