Updated old school thermostat
The majority of thermostats today have to be programmed and thatâs not how my elderly mother rolls. With this, she can control the temp herself, Easily view the numbers and she already knows how it works. This thermostat is just like a flip phone. It simply does what it was meant to do. No more, no less. Im so glad simple products are still available!!!!

Standard thermostat
Definitely no features or frills. Just a standard old fashioned thermostat for those who don’t want the hassle of changing batteries and all the internal electronics. It does the job, seems good quality. Looks just OK. Although I prefer the one with a digital display.

DO NOT WORK.
One thermostat worked for 2 days. The second did not work at all! We had the installing electrician back twice and even had the oil company owner come to work with thermostats. Both men were appalled. I am so frustrated that I cannot return. Covid upended our remodel schedule significantly. It is a crime that company gets to keep my money for these 2 thermostats!!!

If you want a simple analog thermostat, this works perfectly well. Easy to install and does exactly what I want it to.

Difficult to adjust
Pros:1. Nice big selector switches, easy to move and put in place.2. Has Gas vs electric switch3. Requires no batteries, does not have permanent button cell.4. Contains no (DTF/POC) circuit board.Cons:1. Very narrow range adjustment slider. Total range is about 2 inches from 50 to 90 degrees temp. However, the range from 68 to 75 degrees is about 1mm. so to adjust it 1 or 2 degrees is nearly impossible, if you slide it an imperceptable amount, it will change the temp by about 4 degrees.2. No thermometer.

Item was purchased to replace a new programable thermostat that was recently fitted into my Mother-in-laws home. The new programable thermostat was too complicated for someone who has used an old mercury thermostat all their life. So the solution was this one which is basically the same as her old one except for the “Heat & Cool” selection. Item was delivered on time and was a reasonable price. Connection is very straight forward, just remember to turn off your furnace and/or air conditioner, so there is no power at the thermostat (although it will most often be low voltage, you still do not want to work with things powered). The small window shows you the current room temperature and the slide below that shows what you are selecting. I did place some white tape over the “Heat & Cool” labels as this function is not needed for this application, and would just add to the confusion. Now if she is cold she turns up the temperature and if she is too hot she turns it down. And for the 10 days a year we get weather where you just want to run your furnace fan (which is why most people here do not have A/C). she can select the fan to “on” from the auto setting switch on the left. With the move to more sophisticated thermostats, often older people who are not as tech-savvy are being left behind, this thermostat is the prefect answer, but becoming increasingly difficult to find. Great item, basic controls, and works (but interestingly can be slightly more costly than more sophisticated programable ones. If you are not tech-savvy or are changing a thermostat out for someone who is not, this is a great option.

Love this. Easy for Seniors or the technoligically handicapped. My old thermometer broke and it was replaced with the programmable kind. Yup, I had difficulty. Glad to be back to the old style turn up or down the heat by hand sluding the bar.ðð

Good product.Looks good.Got rid of NEST thermostat.Too complicated.So maybe I will spend $50 more a year on heating,but at least I can trust it,and Honeywell.
