I am so glad I purchased this laptop to replace one that could not be updated to Windows 11. Thought I better do it soon because, you know, with the tariff stuff happening. I had no idea how badly my old laptop was running until I plugged this in. So happy! It is fast, light weight and just perfect for me.

Warning: it does NOT have a BACKLIGHT
The first thing I did was do a search on this product page fora backlight and up popped a review saying it had a backlight. I always buy Dells so I hit the buy button. When it arrived I tried to turn on the backlight but nothing worked yet I still believed what the review had said. So I tried for HOURS to get it to work. Impossible, of course. In the process I also discovered that the computer was extremely slow and updating it bogged down, took hours and then didn’t fully update. I searched for info on how to turn on the backlight back when I still believed there was one and ended up on a site that locked my computer and insisted I not try to turn it off because that could result in identity theft and they gave a phone number to call. Oh sure. I’d never call. It was all a scam and I don’t know why my Malwarebytes didn’t block that site. Anyway, that did it. I packaged it up and sent it back to Amazon despite my personal info on the computer that I couldn’t remove because of the scam site locking the computer. Horrible experience. Went to a local store, bought another model Dell, one with a backlight,, and it’s working great. I hope Amazon refunds me for the one that became a brick.

Price was right for 16gb of RAM, I’ve had some good Dells in the past, their service plans are affordable and they make things right if anything ever breaks.I don’t use the touch screen but haven’t disabled it YET, I just found out that a feature called swipe down to shut down is enabled and i need to disable to get the power button to shut down with one push.

Where is the manual?
Believe it or not. Thereâs a few of us old-schoolers stroll left out there. Iâm 57 years old and this is the first computer that Iâve ever owned. Needless to say Iâm not that tech savvy. I decided to buy a laptop for online banking, etc. I was very disappointed when I got this to see there was absolutely no paperwork whatsoever that came with it. no manual no instruction book no feature list no spec list. No nothing. Youâre on your own with this one.

Good laptop
The memory and speed of this laptop is excellent. It makes my work much quicker and less stressful.Purchased when it was on sale, fast shipping. Arrived before holidays comping up. Although I find some of the Microsoft changes with Windows 11 and OneDrive to be confusing and difficult to follow this new Dell computer works well and helps me to explore with more ease. My only complaint was the weight, its a bit heavy to carry around.

The Dell laptop is a solid piece of equipment and operates well.The Dell assistance that was supposed to be available to transfer from old laptop to this one never happened. The transfere took a lot longer as a result.

Name brand laptop with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed. We bought this to replace an aging Microsoft Surface Pro whose OS was beyond its service life. Existing files and settings transferred easily via wifi. We needed a laptop with Windows 11 Pro rather than the Home edition and most other laptops on offer came with the Home version. In effect, this is a business/student laptop with more ports than the thinner models.

Even though my warranty indicated that the migrate software was included (this is the software that downloads the files from your old computer to the new one)Dell would not recognize it and wanted $50.00 to give it to me and I still wasnt sure if they were going to assist me.
