The BEST tasting coffee ever!
The coffee flavor / quality is exceptional! I thought I was crazy spending so much on a coffee maker. I figured I would only keep it if the flavor was the best I ever tasted. Well it is an amazing flavor, best Iâve had. The instructions may seem intimidating but it is actually so easy and quick to make the perfect coffee or milk coffee ever. The frothing gadget is great too. So far Iâm glad and excited about having purchased this machine. No regrets at this point! I had about nine coffee machines I had purchased over the years and many different brands but this one replaces all of them and feels like I will never need another machine. There are so many options for making different types of drinks. Every single one I have chosen the taste has been amazing. Honestly, I think the flavor and quality is better than the high priced coffee chains.

Great coffee, easy to use two bean hoppers.
I figured Iâd write a review for this since I actually paid for mine and when I was buying and I couldnât find anybody that was writing reviews that had actually paid. this is a great coffee maker has a lot of options. Give the ability to switch bean hoppers so you can do decaf and regular in the same machine. Itâs got a ton of options on the LCD screen. The LCD screen is mounted on the top face, so it doesnât get a lot of glare from ambient light itâs nice and bright. Itâs adjustable and easy to use.

Whopping huge upgrade in every way over my old De’Longhi
I just upgraded from a five year old De’Longhi Magnifica S espresso machine. I thought it was broken, which was what started me looking, but after I’d bought the Rivelia, I was able to get it working again. It made no difference. Once I tried the Rivelia, I was done with my old machine. I had two of them (one for home, one for work) and replaced both of them with Rivelias. It was a no brainer. The Rivelia is effectively the same machine, but much, much better. Here’s why:1) The taste is just better. The foam from the Magnifica always tasted strange, and I found I’d just stopped making lattes, even though that was primarily why I’d bought the machine in the first place. Americanos are also wonderful, and now I’m torn between what drink I’m going to have next, and I haven’t even explored most of the options!2) I can finally get enough volume to fill up my cup with the intensity I want. The old machine was geared around traditional espresso sizes, and I’m more of a grande guy.3) The new touch screen has profiles so I can customize the drinks how I like, which is fantastic for our office and the heathens who don’t know how to make coffee.4) It no longer prompts me to empty the grounds when it’s not really filled up. The one caveat I do have is that when it tells me to empty the grounds, the grounds container sometimes is locked in, and I still haven’t quite figured out how to unlock it reliably (maybe the little red plastic piece)? I always get it open, but it’s a bit irritating to initially pull it and have it stuck.5) It’s quieter than the old unit, and turns on and heats up faster.6) I love the ability to switch between beans, which is sweet for decaf and non-decaf, and the aforementioned heathens with their bad coffee choices.7) The design of the machine is attractive, and it feels elegant to use. This was a huge upgrade over my older De’Longhi in every way and I couldn’t (other than the locked grounds tray) be happier.

Delonghi sells crap product and uses delay tactics with their customers experiencing issues.
Donât buy this machine. I donât know where this company gets off charging this amount for a big piece of electronic junk. I bought this machine and paid this amount of money to have a hands off experience when making coffee. If I wanted a hands on experience I would have bought something manual and used my hands but it seems you get what you pay for with this American company. Iv spent weeks trying to solve an error screen that requires the ground container to be emptied when in fact there is nothing to be emptied. There is a sensor that senses when the tray is inserted back in thatâs completely defective. I spend either all morning trying to fix this issue or arguing with my wife why I paid so much for this junk. I of course contacted Delonghi to give them the benefit of the doubt that they would acknowledge customers at this price point probably donât want to be given the run around and health with directly. But thatâs exactly my experience with this company. Many requests for videos requests for explanations to get help none of which actually address my problems. FYI I cleaned out every piece of coffee ground after this video and nothing helps. Do yourself a favor and get something more reliable. I also bet now the company will try and reach out and make some excuse but iv given them their shot and Iâm not changing this review. Deal with your customers better.

Couldnât be more pleased with this machine!
Iâm obsessed with this coffee machine. We did a built in coffee machine in my last house that cost 3x what this machine cost, and I like this one 3x more. It brews a great com. Itâs super easy to operate and to clean. You can switch out the beans anytime. I donât know what else you could want from an automatic coffee machine. Iâm excited to get the cold foam attachment when itâs restocked! If youâre like me and youâve done a ton of research and are still trying to decide, just take the plunge and get this machine. You wonât be disappointed.

So easy to use!
I searched for weeks to find an expresso machine that would be easy to set up, use, and clean. This one does all three! You essentially plug it in and follow the directions for great variations of coffees from the touch screen. It can hold several user profiles, has a carafe for milk that is heated, a reservoir for water, and cleans itself after each use of milk and expresso. When it auto shuts off or you power it down, the cleaning process runs and it helps to keep a cup under the spouts for easy clean up. There is an upgrade that you can purchase to use cold milk and unlock cold coffees. I hope to purchase it when it becomes available.Â

I have tried 3 machines: Delonghi Elatta, Phillips 5500 and now the Delonghi Rivelia. The Rivelia is the clear winner for me, with the exchangeable bean hoppers and the addition of the Lattecreama Cool Upgrade. But more importantly it is much easier to use and to clean, when compared to the other 2 machines. It gets a 5 star rating mostly because it produces the best coffee taste of the 3 units. I think this one is a keeper!

I upgraded from a De’Longhi Magnifica Start with the LatteCrema system which I thoroughly enjoyed. The new Rivelia is a VERY nice upgrade. It looks much more modern than our old Magnifica Start and it pairs up really nicely with our Nespresso Gran Lattissima machine (we’re big coffee drinkers that love variety). Both the Rivelia and the Lattissma have that flag minimalist appearance. The LatteCrema unit on the Rivelia shares a very similar design to that on the Lattissima as well with the knob that can choose your foam thickness as well as activate the clean rinse. The thing I really miss from my Magnifica Start are the graduation lines on the LatteCrema container. I always knew exactly where to fill it with milk to make one latter and one cappuccino. The new container has no such markings so it’s a complete guess at first. I ended up marking the container myself to make things easier. The digital display on the Rivelia is really well implemented. It’s very sharp, bright, and colourful — a very nice-looking display. It’s touch responsiveness is surprisingly good but it’s not just a digital replacement for physical buttons. The touchscreen offers a ton of options and information before, during and after making your coffee. What I appreciate most is that all those options that were previously buried behind combinations of lights and not-so-intuitive icons, are now presented to you in clear descriptive detail. You can VERY easily tweak so many aspects of your coffee. The first latte I brewed was larger than expected compared to the ones we made on the Magnifica Start. Pressed the options button under the Latte icon and right there I was able to select and adjust my brew size with a slider. Dropped it down one size and it was now the same as it was on my Magnifica Start. It also remembered the setting so I no longer have to adjust it each time. Even better, you can setup multiple users and each user can have their own preferences. You can even have preferences based on morning and night. The customization options here are great. The only possible negative thing is that the screen faces upwards on the top of the machine and can’t be adjusted. Depending on your counter top and whether you have cabinets or a valence aboce, your space might be restricted. It worked out better than expected for us but it would have been nice if the screen could tilt up a bit.The Rivelia did away with the built-in bean tray of the Magnifica Start and now uses bean hoppers. These are easily inserted and removed with a simple quarter turn to lock/unlock the hopper from the machine. These hoppers make it much easier to fill the machine when your machine is under a cabinet. I would always spill beans trying to feed them to the back of my Magnifica Start. You also get two hoppers so you can easily keep two different types of beans ready to go.As far as coffees go, this machine has a ton of options. We typically make lattes and cappuccinos and I think they’re great from this machine as they were with our Magnifica Start. While the Rivelia offers a ton of convenience options over the Magnifica Start, I can say that they both produce very similar coffees/espressos. They even sound almost identical when operating. I really didn’t notice any difference (except for size/quantity) from the espressos I was making on the Magnifica Start. I think they’re great for super automatics. The LatteCrema does a surprisingly good job warming and foaming fridge-cold milk. I find this one overall easier to take apart and clean than the one that came with the Magnifica Start as well.If I had any complaint about this machine, it’s one that has apparently lingered since the Magnifica Start — and that is that the machine tends to complain about emptying the bin or the water tray too often and prematurely.Overall, this is the best super automatic I’ve had the pleasure of using so far. Working with the machine is a pleasure and, most importantly, it makes good drinks as well. There should be enough options here to tweak it to your liking if it isn’t good for you out of the box.

I received an fully automated espresso machine that is capable of making a variety of hot and cold beverages. This is a DeâLonghi branded machine, and I have owned and used two of their machines before. I have always been very satisfied with both the quality of their machines and the drinks they make, and this machine is no exception. As with their other machines, this espresso machine came with everything required to start brewing, except for coffee beans, and this process is facilitated by the inclusion of both a printed quick start guide, as well as full user manual. This machine is a bit different than my other machines in that it has a illustrated colour touch screen, and the screen displayed descriptive pictures during each step of the machine setup and also during its operation. This is a nice feature, but I still recommend reading the setup section in the full user manual to pick up all the details.Once I had finished the machine preparations, I was brewing coffee beverages within a matter of minutes. This machine brews a wide variety of hot and cold beverages, and you can scroll through the list on the touch screen. One nice feature is the ability to create individual users profiles, with 4 user slots to pick from, and each profile can be set to contain a userâs preferences. One nice improvement that I noticed over my previous two machines was the ability to easily adjust the drink volumes, either on the fly or permanently, as a user preference. There is also a related feature called âTo goâ drinks, that lets you preset some of the beverage volumes to fit your favourite travel mug, which is then presented as a selectable option in the beverage menu. Unfortunately, this machine only accommodates mugs with a maximum height of about 5 1/4 inches, which excludes all my current travel mugs. One feature that I really like is the swappable bean hoppers that can contain different coffee beans. I like this idea so much that I am likely to purchase additional hoppers, to add to the two that are included with the machine. I have now been using this espresso machine daily for the last couple of weeks, and it has worked perfectly. I have summarized some of my likes and dislikes below:What I like:1. Easy to brew freshly ground hot and cold coffee beverages.2. Brews items quickly and efficiently. When first turned on, the machine takes roughly 35 seconds before its ready to brew items. Once ready, most items take 1 to 3 minutes to make, depending upon the beverage type and volume.3. Cleanup of water in the overflow pan and used coffee grounds is easy, and there is red float indicating the overflow pan needs emptying and a onscreen warning regarding the used coffee grounds.4. Adding water is easy, and can be performed by removing the lid to the water reservoir, adding water, and then replacing the lid.5. The size of the grind of the coffee can be adjusted using a dial and the strength of the brew can be selected in the options for each beverage. Options such as drink volumes are readily adjustable using the touch screen.6. It is easy to swap coffee beans using the bean hoppers.7. Fairly compact size. What I didnât like:1. The water reservoir is fairly small, but thankfully, it is easy to refill .2. Brewing using your own pre-ground coffee is possible, but is quite basic. You can only add a single scoop of ground coffee at a time to the machine and you must take care to add the ground coffee when the machine is on, or you might damage it. I used this functionality a couple of times, and I found it works fine, but would have liked more options such as the ability to add more ground coffee per cup.Summary: Overall, this is easily the nicest espresso/coffee machine that I have owned, and after using it daily for two weeks, makes it unlikely that I would ever want go back to one of my old machines. Although it is also the most expensive, the ease of utilizing a touch screen, the ability to adjust beverage volumes easily, and the exchangeable bean hoppers really make this machine stand out from the rest. I feel that if you drink the coffee beverages that it makes, it would be a worth while addition to your kitchen appliances.

In a nutshell – this is like having a personal barista that never messes up your order. Touchscreen makes everything stupid easy â 18 hot & iced drinks, different user profiles that remember your custom tweaks, and even cleans itself. The 2 bean hoppers are genius for switching roasts (or decaf) without skipping a beat. Coffee? Smooth, rich, café-level.Only gripe? Donât think I have any really. If pushed, iâd say the âXLâ is only 12oz⦠but you can tweak it to 16oz with an extra shot and it remembers. Water tankâs a bit small, but itâs super compact for what it does. Iâve had machines that cost 3x as much â this one beats âem all.If you love coffee, this really is a game changer (yes, sound cliche but no joke – it is). Complicated drinks, simple as a tap, and no barista knowledge required. So easy, youâll actually enjoy using it daily⦠and bragging about it too.Longer Review: The Coffee Machine That Will Spoil You ForeverIt doesnât just make coffee â it makes your perfect coffee (plain or fancy), every time, without you lifting more than a finger. Iâve owned pricier machines, but this oneâs the first that not only feels premium but delivers a premium experience from start to finish and does it all for you. The touchscreen walks you through everything, from brewing to cleaning, so youâll have café-grade drinks without even reading the manual, or having an ounce of barista knowledge. The 2 bean hoppers are genius â dark roast for mornings, decaf for evenings, no bean dumping required. The drinks? Rich, smooth, proper crema, and milk froth thatâs silky enough to make a barista blush. My only nitpick: the âXLâ coffee size is just 12oz. However – you can customize it to 16oz with an extra shot, and itâll remember for next time.Criticisms? Aside from the XL thing, absolutely nothing. The water tank is a bit on the small side, but thatâs a fair trade off for such a compact do it all machine. Really, it doesnât take up much more space than a typical coffee maker, and has a smaller footprint then most manual expresso machines.Specs at a glance:18 preset drinks (hot & iced), swappable hoppers, 13-setting burr grinder, 4 user profiles, LatteCrema auto-clean frother, and a compact footprint for what it replaces.Final Thought/Bottom line â itâs a premium coffee shop experience, in your kitchen, on demand, complicated drinks made simple with zero drama. If you love coffee, this might be the last machine you ever âneedâ (until DeâLonghi invents one that also brings you breakfast in bed). I could go on and on about this machine – but Iâm keeping it to the point – itâs absolutely perfect
Amazon Customer –
I just recieved my new Rivelia. This is my 2nd attempt at Delonghi. Three months ago, I had purchased a Dinamica Plus through Amazon. That machine had to be returned after 1 week because of a defective pump. After 3 months of attempts to get refunded, because it was sold through Amazon by a non-authorized seller, I finally got a refund last week. I then took another chance with Delonghi and ordered the Rivelia. I read good reviews and so I trusted the product. The product was delivered by ASL Distribution. Although I was supposed to sign for this package, it was left on my front porch and the delivery was made at 3:30 in the morning. That’s 3:30am!!! No signature required apparently. But on to the problem with the machine:When I started it for the first time, it stopped just before the first rinse and told me to empty the grounds tray in order to proceed. I did that, even though there were no grounds to empty since I just started up the machine. But after reinserting the tray, the message persisted and the machine would not move on to the next step. It displayed that I had to make sure that the side door was closed and that the grounds tray was reinserted. I checked both these things about 100 times, tried removing and reinserting the brew group, etc. Nothing worked. It would not go past this screen. I went on the Delonghi website to see if there was a fix, but they don’t even have that listed as a problem, so no help there. I searched the Internet for a fix to this and apparently it is a manufacturing defect with the grounds tray not sitting correctly on some Rivelia machines that causes this. The YouTube solution was to fold up a small piece of paper and place it under the tray before reiserting it into the machine. Trial and error, they say. SInce I purchased a brand new machine, I don’t want to have to start modifying it with strange gadget-fixes to get it to work! I will contact Delonghi CS tomorrow (since today is Sunday) and hope that they can send me either a new part or a new machine! My trust and confidence in Delonghi is far from good right now. I really want to like this machine and the Delonghi product line, but problem after problem does not inspire that.
