UPDATE (08.28.25): I received a message from the company informing me that there is in fact a 2 year warranty on the product and that they would like to replace the faulty unit. I am thrilled to hear from them, especialluly so quickly, and learn that they have every intention of providing a quality, lasting product as intended and designed. The minute I unboxed it, I fell in love with this tool; just by holding it in your hands it’s apparent how much nicer it is than pretty much every other brand in its class. From the lcd screen, to the incredibly robust rubber exterior, to the perfect case and accoutrement it contains – even now, looking for replacements online, there simply are no substitutions any near the same luxury and value, with the same power, and especially anything that’s battery powered. I have held this tool in high regard amongst my collection and am always happy when I have a reason to use it.Today, August 24th, 2025, I went to charge after using it for some bench work, and noticed it was not getting power (I initially purchased this in Sept. 2024). Upon further inspection, I noticed that the onboard usb-C female input was askew. As I went to try replugging the cable, the entire adapter seperated from the pcb and is now freely rolling around the inside of the unit.Less than a month away from a year of use and the tool is completely useless.I checked the acconpanying documentation and no where does it mention any sort of warranty.I am very sad, as I was quite fond of this rotary tool; as I look through the alternatives, I quite underwhelmed. However, after less than a year of light bench-work, I don’t think I can bring myself to purchase another at nearly $80. This thing never left my house and was not treated poorly, to say the least.I would really like to think this is an anomoly, as I was incredibly fond of this tool, but BE WARNED.

Solid quality
This tool works well. It charged quick, and battery lasts a long time. Its motor is in fact quite fast, so as seen in the video it cuts thru heavy SuperStrut metal quite well, and so now its my main cutting tool for that home project Iâm workin on. When I tighten the collet nut down with the wrench, the shaft lock is quite firm; in cheaper made rotary tools I feel like if I try to secure the bit too hard with the wrench, the whole driveshaft will slip inside or break. But this Depstech feels solid – very solid. The case it comes in is very good as well. I appreciate the inclusion of the keyless chuck. Glad I have this tool, and I recommend it.

Solid power and construction… But, hit or miss on battery life.
I bought this mostly to drop in my ‘scav-bag’, with my hatchet, a stack of sandpaper and a Japanese hand saw. Used in harvesting materials like; wild herbs, bamboo, wood, and small scrap metal parts. As well as, Art/craft projects I do outside when weather is nice, like refing walking sticks.It’s a little chunky, but not unwieldy IMO. And doesn’t weigh me down. And… While I really do like this rotary tool. That battery can go pretty fast!IME, running cut-off wheels in 3-4gear runs it down in well under an hour. I can sand in 2nd for a little over two hours. Maybe 3 on light sanding on fine detail work. Unfortunately, it has been charging pretty slow too. Taking 30-40min, for each 10% of charge. (I think my charging block could be better too though, TBO). It’ll charge of a portable battery bank… But it’s SLOW!I think at this price point it’ll be hard to do much better than this on battery powered Rotary. So if you’re looking for something portable, for small jobs… This is great! If not… Corded are still king anywhere you can reach a outlet.

Welcome quality and power from this tool
This is a great option for those who are not in a battery system and with most having fast USB-C already in use making it conveinient for all users. I have gotten solid battery run times out of being pretty hard on the tool. The controls are great with the digital display having the 5 different speed settings allows for a variety of applications. It comes with a decent little bit kit. I have used this to fix part of my door frame, grinding and drilling on my vehicles to using the wire brush to remove rust. This has a great amount of torque as well for having the internal battery. They have done a great job with the tool it feels of a quality build in materials as well. For the price and the competition I don’t think you can beat it.

Works Great…Good Value
The DEPSTECH Rotary Tool is well built, and it has satisfied all my needs. Iâve traditionally used DREMEL tools, but when mine stopped working I decided to try a less expensive alternative. That was a great decision. The DEPSTECH runs very smoothly, the digital readout for speed selection and charging level is bright and easy to read, and the included accessories are fully compatible with DREMEL counterparts. I particularly appreciated the drywall cutter as a bonus. The only minor inconvenience was the charging cord that was provided did not have USB-A connector on either end, but I had an adapter that solved the problem. Overall, I highly recommend this toolâ¦the performance and value cannot be beat.

Terrible product!!!
I bought this product June the 12th. It’s quit working Aug 19. Won’t charge, won’t light up. It’s past the 30-day warranty Amazon offers, but when I try to go to the manufacturer to talk to them about their supposedly 1-year warranty, NOTHING. They give you an address, but when you go there, they just refer you right back to the beginning. If you buy this product, just know you’ve been warned! Now I’ve got to spend money on another one, but rest assured it WON’T BE A DEPSTECH!!!

I was looking for a cordless rotary tool as an alternative to my mains-powered rotary tool.This is DEPSTECH’s upgraded 2.5Ah 12V model over their previous 8v offering, now with a more powerful battery (charged via USB-C, cable supplied is 1m USB-C to USB-C) and a whopping 35000rpm top speed, with plenty of power for cutting and cleaning metal.Opening the box, I was pleased to see a really nice zip-up box where everything has its place, instead of an ugly plastic one-size-fits-all box that are often used.Included are a range of accessories for cutting, sanding, polishing and drilling, all kept safe in a small plastic box. The inclusion of a cutting shield is very welcome – keeping sparks out of the way! There is also a “cutting guide” housing but I’ve not had need to use it yet.The speed is set by two buttons next to a large screen which displays the speed setting (1-5) and the %age of battery charge.There are five speed settings: 1=5000rpm, 2=12500rpm, 3=20000rpm, 4=27500rpm, 5=35000rpm enough to cover most requirements. My one criticism is that I’d like a variable speed control or at least some more steps – but that’s just my personal opinion. The last used speed setting is remembered.In use, it’s not excessively heavy to hold (well-spec’d batteries aren’t particularly light) although some may find it tiring if used for long periods, but it is fairly well balanced in the hand, and there is a handy hanging loop that can be flipped out for hanging from a bench hook saving it from being knocked onto the floor.Accessories are fitted using a standard collet collar system. A push button at the head of the tool is pushed down to lock the spindle, accessories are then inserted into the collet. The collet head is then tightened with the supplied spanner.This DEPSTECH rotary tool is a really good alternative to the brand leader (of which costs twice as much), and has a higher top speed. I’ll be finding plenty of uses for it around the house!

Wanted a tool like this for a while but found it hard to justify the cost for something that would be used occasionally. However, I’ve been doing a lot of DIY and also making items to sell in my spare time. So decided to take the plunge. I am delighted with it so far and already carved a sign and sanded some tricky wood bits. I’m sure I’ll get better with a bit of practice. It will be worth investing in some engraving tools. The unit is very robust, possibly a bit on the heavy side but loads of power. The only negative is the battery life, but that’s what chargers are for. It will come in handy for other jobs so definitely would recommend.
