Durability and long life.
This is my second drill of this model. The first one I bought in 2013. Twelve years of pretty heavy use from drilling up to 1/2â holes in steel to building decks and only using deck mate screws. I know I dropped it several times over the years and never had one problem with it. Recently it finally gave up the ghost. I looked high and low and found an identical replacement here on Amazon. The motor in this drill is brushless so youâll have better performance and longer use. Doesnât drain the battery as fast. For best performance pair it up with a 20/60 volt battery. Makes the drill a bit heavier but you wonât be chasing down a battery as often.

Dewalt — what more can I say
I bought one of these a year ago and wanted to have another, so I did not have to change bits so often. Now I can load one with a drill bit and another with the driver bit and I reduced my time significantly as I did not have to stop and change one bit for another or have it fall out of the magnetic extension.These two together make my work go so smoothly now and the brushless feature really keeps them working even on the toughest jobs. I had the batteries already on hand so now there is no wasted time, and I get my jobs completed so much quicker. Afterall — time is money!

Seems like a solid professional level drill
I am a home remodeler and use my tools a bunch. I returned the lesser priced Dewalt drill recently because the motor was inferior. This is more expensive by about $50 but I guess with Dewalt you now need to bypass the lesser expensive models and go to their top of the line models. Time will tell but I expect this one will do the trick. Same day delivery was awesome.

a good drill for lighter work
I had an earlier Dewalt model, but the transmission broke. The parts, with shipping, cost nearly what this drill cost, so I just bought this one and trashed the old one.It won’t turn a 3/4 auger bit through doubled top plates, for pulling romex. But it has been a good screw driver. It does fine with framing screws up to about 8 inches long. It has trouble driving 14in screws that I use for sticker stacks. I saves time not having to string out a power cord. But this cordless needs a 110v back-up for work that requires a lot of torque.
