The DCF630 Brushless Drywall Screwgun features a brushless motor and electronic mode select to help optimize usage in a range of drywall hanging applications. Four dedicated tool modes enable operation of the screwgun in Trigger Mode (High Speed), Trigger Mode (Low Speed), PushStart Mode, and Lock-On Mode. A top-mounted electronic mode select enables fast, one-handed switching between the tool’s four modes. The DCF630’s compact size and weight are designed to reduce fatigue during periods of extended usage, while its wide upper grip flange enables secure placement of thumb and forefinger. The DCE555 Drywall Cut-Out Tool features a 26,000 RPM brushless motor, which delivers fast and consistent cutting performance in a variety of drywall and paneling applications. The tool features tool-free bit change, enabling fast and secure bit and collet changes without the need for a wrench. A forward-positioned on-off button is designed for easy and ergonomic usage.

What can I say. Dewalt has never let me down.Bought this combo for a basement bedroom project and could not be happier. Both units function as they should, the battery life was great for the drywall screw gun lasting all day, but the drywall cutting tool eats them fast. Fortunately I have quite a few batteries to swap.They are very easy to use, size and weight are fine even with batteries.Great deal!

Mixed Quality and Results
These tools are nice, but lack consistency in operation. The screw gun has difficulty handling harder stud lumber such as pressure treated pine or douglas fir, which are common in the northern US and for basement furring strips. It also is inconsistent on the depth during finish of the screw driving. The cutout tool seems difficult to master, but I keep working with it.

Smart Feature = Point of Failure
This would be a fine screw driver set, well-made. Good battery system, but not significantly better than any other imported-from-china competitor. The deal breaker here is a feature that they don’t tell you about online:This is a SMART Screw Driver.What does that mean? Simply, the drive shaft won’t engage and the screw driver won’t operate unless the onboard computer ‘senses’ a screw with enough weight behind it. In other words, you, the human are no longer capable of judging when to you the tool, and the tool is completely useless unless it detects JUST right. I’ll leave you to guess what happens when this sensor fails. That’s right…I sent it back. I don’t need this most basic of tools ‘thinking’ for me for my own safety.
