Surprisingly good multi functional robot vacuum.
So far this has done everything we hoped. It is able to navigate our Persian style rugs, does a good job detecting the difference between hardwood and carpet, and overall room mapping is surprisingly accurate. Mopping feature does a good job to keep the floors clean but a manual mop is still needed for a deeper clean in occasion. Vacuum does a decent job on higher pile carpet all well as tighter lower styles.

I am totally enamored by the DREAME X50 Ultra Complete Robot Vacuum and Mop. This is not my first robot vacuum and, admittedly, my old robot vac is outdated by about seven years, but the contrast in features and performance is drastic. The first thing I noticed after unboxing and setting up the unit is how quiet and smooth it operates. My old robot took several passes (days) through the house to build out its map, but this one quickly went around the house with the camera popping up from the front, navigating the perimeter, taking note of throw rugs and obstacles and built its map in less than 15 minutes. I’ve been skeptical of the mop function being included in a robot vac, but the performance of this machine has made me a convert! From its innovative robotic retractable legs, advanced shock absorbers, edge brush arm extension/retraction, these features enable the X50 Ultra to cross thresholds and obstacles up to 2.36 inches with minimal noise and disruption—this is an ideal feature for homes with uneven flooring and/or door tracks; this machine is head and shoulders above the capabilities of my old single-function robot vac. On its first use, it offers a deep clean option to get started. You can program each cleaning run to vacuum only, mop while vacuuming or mop after vacuuming. The robot also has the VersaLift® Navigation system, which intelligently lowers the vacuum’s profile to just 3.5 inches, letting it easily pass beneath sofas, beds and other low furniture. An AI camera with LED guidance ensures precise navigation, even in the tightest corners, while obstacle avoidance keeps your valuables safe. It’s fascinating to watch this robot in action, as lights illuminate its path when background lights are low or when navigating underneath furniture. It actually has an intelligent mess detection, which can purportedly differentiate between solid or liquid (or mixed) stains and adjust its cleaning strategy accordingly. When mopping, the pads extend out to the back and sides to reach edges to within 0.4” of the wall. Another really cool feature (at least I think so) is the machine’s ability to transmit camera views through to its smartphone app, so you can view what the robot sees as it traverses the map of your home. The DuoBrush® system addresses a common pain point for pet owners and long-haired individuals: hair tangles. This robot has the ability to manage hair strands of almost 12” long and the way its air ducts are designed, the X50 Ultra delivers a deep, quiet clean (it’s so much quieter than my old robot). Its Vormax® suction power boasts up to 20,000Pa, ensuring no debris is left behind—crumbs and dust are all easily captured. Maintenance of the unit is simple too, with easily replaceable dust bags (I hate emptying the dustbin on my old robot). The mop pad cleaning system has separate fresh and soiled water tanks that lift off without dripping for filling clean and emptying dirty water with ease. Behind the front panel, where the dust bag is located, is the refillable mop cleaning solution tank. You put the (included) cleaning concentrate in this tank, which lasts a long time between multiple cleanings (estimated on the fact that since filling it, I’ve sent the robot to mop the whole house four times and the solution tank depletion is barely noticeable). The machine basically takes care of itself, notifying you through the app when to minimally intervene, empty/fill tanks, add cleaning solution, change dustbag, etc. The extendable brush and mop pads reach deep into corners for a comprehensive clean; the appearance after mopping is spotless, with no streaks, far exceeding my expectation. The included spares and extras, like multiple edge brushes, filters, mop pads, extra DuoBrush®, etc. make this an excellent choice for today’s busy households. Some may find the base unit on the large side (13.5”x15.5”x23.5”), but considering what this machine does, it’s worth the trade-off (IMO). They’ve really thought of everything with this machine and I just love it. 5-stars!

I wanted to spend a few days with this robot in order to get a very good review for this. In the past I have had different robots, but I haven’t in almost 10 years. Since then we have used a Dyson Ball, and it’s done a great job. However, as we’ve gotten older, we have found that we are having less and less time to run the vacuum through and mop the floors. Now I’m not saying we’re disgusting pigs or anything, but we’re busy professionals.Set up of this robot was quite simple, put everything together just as the instructions tell you, download the app, connect to your Wi-Fi, connect to your application and account, and then map your living space.Now my living space is a little bit busy and there’s numerous obstacles due to items that should be in my storage but unfortunately they’re in my house. The AI does a good job of mapping out most of the main floor of my home. But with large boxes and some shipping boxes in the way, it does reflect those as limitations of the space that it is attempting to map.The vacuum itself does a quite good job, especially as it transitions from area rugs to hardwood floors. Moves quite quickly compared to my old robot (which bear in mind is more than 10 years ago) and easily cleans itself when it returns to its dock.The mop is interesting to me. It injects the solution into the robot on demand, and follows the same sort of mopping method based on the AI mapping. It does a great job of actually cleaning my hardwood floors and it completely surprised me. Again, it will deplete the solution that is used back into the system into its waste bucket for emptying at a later time. What is super cool about it? Is that it actually sanitizes the cleaning pads. That was something I did not expect entirely.Overall, I’m extremely impressed with this. I’ve connected it to my Amazon Alexa and have been able to verbally start the robot without any problems whatsoever.This is one of the situations in which you significantly get what you pay for. This has completely changed my life. I don’t think I’ve ever been as happy as I was when I got this vacuum. I have it set up to run in the middle of the night, so I wake up with a clean floor, this vacuum and mops and sweeps at the same time. You can make it do any of those things by itself. I love that it has AI and it’s able to map my house and see any obstacles and work around them. It is mindful of the fact that I have pets and does a great job and going around them. I find I can get a few good cleans before I have to refill the clean water reservoir and empty the dirty water. I still haven’t had to clean out the vacuum bag and it’s been like three weeks. I love all the different parts that it comes with so you are not needing to buy anything to use this machine in the near future. I love that I can turn it on from the app on my phone so I don’t need to be home to have it on. I love that I can see where the robot is in my house and see the route. It’s taken to clean the house. I also really enjoy that I can set it up to do a certain zone in the house if I don’t need the whole house clean Quite possibly the hardest worker in my home.
