Gems and chalk are good, hair twist/braid tools not good
The basic items in this kit are okay, and will work well for kids to play with. That includes the gems, stickers, clips, hair chalk – those things. The tools are the problem here. For one thing, the twister tool requires a screwdriver to open, and you then have to install a AA battery, which is not included. On top of that, the item is very unintuitive and complicated. I think I would have to spend over an hour just figuring out how to make it work, because I couldn’t do it after a few minutes of trying. You would think something for kids would have a simpler operation. It’s a cute set, but I don’t think it’s very good overall.

Would not waste your $ on this. Twisting the hair put it in knots, it was also difficult to use.The Chalk part was okay but I’m sure there is better stuff you can use.

This is such a fun gift. It’s incredibly easy to use, with hair tools that actually do work, but are safe for younger children to use.This is a great value, it makes for a fun party theme or just a gift to give.These are very easy to use and function, as well as the quality is good to be able to actually use them in your hair.I’m so excited to try this out, and it really didn’t fail I was actually impressed at how well it worked and did various hairstyles.

It’s an ok novelty toy
It’s an ok novelty toy. The color chalks colored my daughter’s dark brown hair very well. However, it rubbed off onto her hands and face extremely easily and was very hard to get off. The twisting machine worked somewhat. It twisted the hair but it would be easier to do by hand. It does not braid. The 3 prong twister only twists. The jewel applicator did not work well. They were easier to put in by hand.
