It’s worth it – Excellent product & purchase!
OralB discontinued their Super Floss (in a regular custom-sized length container) and their pre-cut ones are a different material with stiff waxed ends. If you have extremely tight teeth and use the technique of making a knot a few inches from the end of the piece & pulling through the areas between your teeth, this floss is the next best option. Probably even better than OralB’s version.It’s made similar to an embroidery thread, with a lot of teeny strings. They really pick up the tiniest of black pepper flakes! It doesn’t shred that easily – unless if you’re like me and continually pass the same area through your teeth (included a photo of the floss in a new and a shredded state).If you have a (glued) retainer, braces, or a jagged cap, this floss does catch easily and you might have fibers stuck to those areas that you’ll need to dry and tweeze. Sometimes I’m not sure if some of the teeny white balls are actually a string that got cut off and rolled up, instead of plaque. Either way, this floss picks anything up easily.I don’t mind the light licorice flavor and smell, but if you’re sensitive to natural herbal smells, this might not work for you. However, this purchase is still well worth it for the thorough cleaning it provides.

The best floss ever
I have been using this floss for a few years. I have a few teeth that are super close to each other and other floss breaks on those teeth, leaving bits of string behind. This is a great floss. Recently, I ran out and figured I would be thrifty and just all of my random sample packs of flosses that I get from the dentist. Ugggg. It was miserable. I would go through the process of flossing as usual, but the waxy and thin floss just didn’t feel like it was doing anything. Unless I had a piece of something like broccoli in between my teeth, it didn’t feel like it was doing much. After a few weeks, I couldn’t handle it anymore and I purchased some more Dr. Tungs. It just cleans better. It’s like millions on tiny strands within the floss that actually provide a friction against the tooth to clean it. If you’re going to go through the time and effort to floss, use the best product there is. This is the best.

Old review: I will now only buy this floss. I love everything about it and its cleaning abilities at least seem to be superior to your typical waxed floss. Probably not really a thing if the dentist hasn’t switched from the standard type, but this stuff still makes me happier to floss and that is important. But to each his own – my boyfriend doesn’t like string floss. This floss is string, not smooth and waxed. So if that’s not your jam, don’t buy it – leaves more for me :)Update several years later: I’ve bought this floss many times and am now SO disappointed by the new packaging. I no longer love everything about this floss. And that makes me sad. Because flossing isn’t fun and loving your floss makes it better. I guess I understand why they’d make the switch, but it is not consumer friendly. Who puts floss (which will inevitably be handled by wet hands and stored near or on a sink) in a paper package? The coating on the paper does not solve the problem. And the package isn’t as neat and user friendly as the old packaging, even if it were waterproof. The bottom of the paper case is folded and definitely not sturdy. The inner protective plastic over the floss ring is crinkly in a bad way. I really don’t hate the earth, but I’d prefer to focus on teeth/gum friendliness and user friendliness rather than ecofriendliness when shopping for dental floss.Please bring back the option of a plastic container. Your old one was awesome. If you are new to this brand, you don’t what you’re missing – the old case was cute, plastic, and well engineered. If the company wants to be more economical and feel more earth friendly, then how about offering a refill system with a reusable plastic case? I guarantee this could work, because i very luckily still had one old pink plastic floss package on hand when I decided that these new packages suck. With minimal modification, I was able to remove the new floss from its ridiculous paper and plastic wrap enclosure and fit it into the cleaned old pink Dr. Tungs case. As long as I can keep this lone old plastic case going, I will continue to buy this floss for the merits of the floss alone… but if this old case refill system fails me in time, I may have to give up on this brand solely due to their bad choice in repackaging. Unfortunately for this company, their competition in the expanding string floss world is growing and they really ought to pay attention to all the negative reviews of their product update!

Tengo las encías retraídas y sensibles y me daba miedo pasar la seda/hilo dental todos los días porque me hacía algo de daño en alguna encía. Éste es maravilloso, el mejor que probado nunca, lo uso a diario y noto que limpia y arrastra mucho más que el resto y de una forma suave, como si fuera una esponjita entre los dientes, pero cabe perfectamente hasta en los dientes apiñados sin romperse ni hacer daño. Ademas el aroma muy suave a cardamomo es muy original y me encanta
