Quality Product at a great price, awesome technology!
I honestly bought this because I am getting a new door and wanted to try out a digital lock to let neighbors in to check on my dog when we are away. With that in mind I did not need to drill any holes for the install and only needed to make minor adjustments to the mounting to be a direct fit on my old door. The instruction were VERY clear and install was super easy….like 2 minutes easy. If I had to do drilling or demeling, it would have been easy as the templates where not cheap paper but a card stock that was solid and accurate in dimensions. Either way, easy install and perfect fit.The actual quality is better than I was expecting. I had previously purchased a GoPro type camera from this company and it has been amazing! Seriously, way better than my actual GoPro and at a much better price. That alone helped me decide to go with this keypad and door handle combo. The door handle feels good, looks great and appears to work as intended. It is not super heavy but feels like good quality and is working great.On to the star of the show. The digital key pad. Again, super easy to install. 4 AA batteries are required and not included. It fit in my existing opening with no adjustments needed. It was just remove the old one, put this one in, batteries in and it was up and running.To setup the keypad you have to download the app, create an account and you’re you can set a new passcode and put in the store finger print mode. For me the guest code is what I was interested in. You can specify multiple different codes and times they are valid. The lock does still work without using the app, but you are limited to the default code and I couldn’t figure out how to add finger prints without it. The keypad lights up and a surprise to me, it talks…loudly! So, no sneaking around with this thing!In all, I’m super happy with this purchase and would recommend it.

I recently upgraded to the AkaGear DS10 Keypad Digital Door Lock with Handle and so far it has been a fantastic addition to my home security system.Installation templates are provided for new door installations, but I suspect most customers would buy it to replace existing manual door locks and handles, for which case the instructions are easy to follow as they are detailed with step-by-step pictures and drawings.There are multiple access methods to unlock the door:(1) by fingerprint which is very fast and reliable, very convenient as well instead of fumbling for keys; up to 50 fingerprints can be programmed. This allows use of multiple fingers, left or right, for each family member, trusted friends or guests.(2) via keypad by entering a 6-9 digit passcode. Lock has capacity to record up to 300 different passcodes, allowing assignment of temporary passcodes to any expected guests coming when you are away.(3) Physical keys, 2 are provided, which serve as back-up but you will very unlikely need.(4) Phone app Smart Life which is available on Android or iPhone. This works via Bluetooth so user has to be close to the door to operate its lock and unlock feature, as well as programming codes.Other really impressive features:a. Programming fingerprint as well as access passcodes can be done by via the keypad or via the phone app, which is super convenient.b. Door has auto lock feature, which has a time delay that can be set up from 5 to 60 seconds. Alternatively locking is done with 1 button touch.c. Upon installation, lock automatically detects whether the door is left or right hand opening and adjusts accordingly.d. There is voice guidance that confirms when passcodes and fingerprints are accepted and also announces when the door unlocks or locks as the case may be.e. Lock is powered from 4 AA size batteries accessible only from the inside, with low batter power warning. But in the extreme case that you get locked outside without the physical keys, emergency power can be supplied to the lock via Type C connector under the keypad.Overall, this fingerprint smart door lock with a phone app via Bluetooth access and two physical keys has significantly enhanced my home’s security and convenience. The combination of advanced security features and user-friendly technology makes it a worthwhile investment. I highly recommend this smart lock for anyone looking to upgrade their home security system.

Beyond Convenient!
I have been wanting a keyless way to enter my house for a long time. I’m really glad I found this lock/handle combination. Installation was fairly straightforward for someone who has limited experience installing this type of thing; the template really helped. I love that you can set multiple codes for the lock, including temporary codes should you have a contractor who needs access while you’re away. The fingerprint option is a nice feature. I really appreciate the ability to remotely lock and unlock the door. It adds peace of mind to be able to simply check my phone to ensure that someone did not forget to lock the door. Aside from the multiple functions it offers, I appreciate the overall asthetic it adds to the door. We were not able to install it on our new door yet since there has been a delay in shipment, but it makes our old door look a little classier. I’m strongly considering getting additional locks like this for the other doors in my house.

Certain Frustrations for sure! – GREAT customer service
Installation of the keypad was fairly easy, but while screwing in one of the screws into the battery pack the screw head broke with about 3 turns left, so itâs being held on with one screw. Itâs fine for right now, but the screws could be thicker. The outside door handle measured perfect, but the screw receptor is about 1/4 inch higher than our existing handle. Iâll have to fill in the exit sting hole and red till a new one for the handle, thatâs frustrating! The programming instructions make no sense at all. I ended up going on line and pulling the manual for programming from their website. Update: Great customer service. They responded to my review and made good resolving my issues. Definitely appreciate the customer service responsiveness.
