Like a lot of high school kids, Curt Strohacker worked in a service station to earn some spending cash, but he also repaired cars in his free time, buying and selling countless vehicles, and learning valuable lessons about restoration. As the market for automotive refurbishing began to take off in the 1970s, Curt realized that proper tools and techniques could save enthusiasts like him time and money.
So in the fall of 1978,launched a business to better serve the burgeoning market of auto restoration and customization hobbyists, and he called it Eastwood.
Since its inception, Eastwood recognizes that change constantly takes place in the marketplace, and so strives to stay abreast of these developments by placing customers’ wants and needs at the forefront. In recent years, the market for automotive hobbyists has expanded beyond the “classics”, and Eastwood has seen increased requests for products geared towards muscle cars, street rods, trucks, and motorcycles. Easy Way To Build A Great Bench
I needed a bench for reloading. I didn’t want to spend a fortune and needed it in the near future. This bench kit allowed me to build a bench in less than a week. It’s very sturdy and accommodates all my equipment. You can build a small, medium or large bench with this hardware. If you have a saw, drill and wrench, that’s all it take to build a great bench. I’d build another one in a heart beat if I needed one.

Wow, This is awesome heavy duty brackets for my bench, that will no doubt outlive me. When I say heavy dutyâ¦â¦I mean each bracket is 5 pounds of high strength steel and you get 8 of them. Just superb quality and excellent craftsmanship. They are so much better than the cheaper ones being advertised. No comparison! Be careful when you are pulling them out of the packaged bag since they might fall out from plastic bag due to the weight.I will be ordering another set and certainly recommend this to others.

Sturdy but badly finished
It was fairly easy to build the workbench. The only point it to round the edge of the 4×4 a bit with a surform.WARNING: Make sure you paint them. The factory rust proofing is not great. Six weeks after assembling the workbench we had a significant amount of rust. They never got wet, but they were sitting in the humid Alabama summer air.

Very Heavy Duty Brackets
I decided to use 3/8âx 4â carriage bolts instead of the recommended 4 1/2â. The shorter bolts along with acorn nuts makes for a much nicer appearance. Also, using 4×4âs throughout enhanced the look of this garage utility table. The top is 1 7/8â finger joint maple butcher block.

Once again Eastwood doesn’t disappoint.
I have a long history with Eastwood and their quality products. When I saw these corner brackets from Eastwood I didn’t hesitate purchasing them for my workbench project, and once agin they did not disappoint. These are very thick and substantial pieces of steel. Though they are unfinished, one should clean them off well with denatured alcohol, prime and paint them. The instructions are straight forward and clear. I put on a set of heavy duty wheels so I could move the workbench as needed. When all was said and done this was a good investment.
