Wow, light and quiet machine for my yard
Very impressive. My old Toro machine broke down. I was searching new options. A church friend recommended this brand. I ordered this one and it came earlier.Installation was easy. After full charge, I started my first try. The machine is super light and very easy to move around on the lawn. I think I used less than 15 minutes to get front yard done (about 2500 square feet). It took one grid battery. Because I have a huge yard, I recharged it to full.I think I spent about 30-40 minutes on the back yard. My back yard is a little bit hilly. There was no problem. The light machine left little foot print on the yard after it was done. 2 grid battery was left.I feel I have been totally released from the old heavy gas mower. The noise from the machine is very low. There is no need to have a noise cancellation earbuds.To be safe, I will getSecond battery to cover my yard.Charging is very fast.I hope this machine can last long time.Highly recommended.

Best Lawn Mower Iâve Ever Owned!

solid serious machine
i’ve only used this new mower once so far, but like most folks i’ve used a lot of mowers since 1960 so here are my impressions: the mower is mostly heavy plastic but that doesn’t matter because heavy plastic in 2025 is probably more functional than steel decks of 40 years ago, or so it seems to me….i don’t intend to stand on it.the unit is a bit of a beast…light in weight but heavy in the right places, the wheel height adjustment is heavy and positive and has a nice serious feel to it, the battery is very heavy for a lithium, the hand controls look durable, the motor can’t be seenthe unit spun up readily and pushed/pulled easily….due to my age and mobility issues i pull the unit behind a riding tractor arrangement at a speed of 1 to 2 mph and i mow what most folks would call a wild pasture full of native grassthe mower handled all the tall grass and coarse weeds, it never stalled, it never seriously spun down or sounded stressed, and it wasn’t at all tippy……i had it set on height setting on highest at 7 and it never contacted any branch fragments or fire ant mounds…….the motor apparently has a built in over heat protection cut off, and it cut out once on the 90 degree hot day, and recovered after a rest in the shadeit ran strong for about 35 minutes, until the battery went from 5 lights to 2 lights….that was enough for me…i didn’t want to risk heat stroke.in summary the mower performed better than expected….i thought the mower blade shape was darn odd but it cut fine and i had no cause to regret investing in this machine so far.one thing i have noticed…the grass clipping ejection port is at the stern and its covered over by a hinged solid plastic flap arrangement that moves widely up and down but can’t be removed…..for the clippings to exit you have to insert a plastic vent that comes with the machine and it forces the cuttings into a short chute with a 90 degree right turn……if there’s any problem with this machine its that the clippings don’t want to make that right turn and they tend to get hung up in that area……..i just bull on through and it seems to clear itself…..my preference would be to remove both the hinged flap and the plastic insert and just let the cuttings shoot straight out the back without any obstruction but no can do

Good enough that I bought it again
I’d love to give this 5 stars but it doesn’t cut well enough to deserve it. That said, I’m buying my second model 2101 to replace the one I got 7 years ago. The original still runs fine, but the wheels are ripped up (my fault for repeatedly pushing it along retaining block wall). For the price of 4 wheels and a new battery you may as well buy a new mower. I was happy to see this model still available. The EGO website directed me to the Amazon page, but make sure it says sold by Amazon.com so EGO will honor the warranty.I looked at the newer 2114 model. That one has slightly more torque (6 vs 5.3 lb-ft) and the battery compartment is a little nicer (battery installs at an angle and the release is more of a lever than a button), but after considering the options I prefer the design of the 2101. It stores better, with the handle folding fully upright. The grab handle is much nicer going all the way through the body whereas the 2114 handle is a little recess that barely fits your fingertips.As for performance, I’d rate this 7 out of 10. It doesn’t cut as well as I’d like, but considering the package overall, it’s good enough that I bought another one. It’s lightweight and fairly quiet (less so with the high-lift blade). We have very lush St Augustine grass which is probably worst case for a mower. The standard blade probably misses about 3% of the grass blades. Still, the yard looks amazing, especially compared to the “professional” service that used a zero-turn mower that mutilated our yard, cut it too low, and created ruts. I mow at the highest setting (4″) and mow at least once per week during growing season. By the end of the first summer with this EGO mower, we started getting compliments from our neighbors on how nice the yard looked.There may be better mowers, but this is easy to use and easy to store. I don’t have to worry about maintenance or gas and it runs quiet enough to listen to podcasts or audiobooks while mowing.

This mower is amazing! So many great features. The multi-position handle allows everyone – including my eleven year-old grand daughter – to push it with ease. And the handle-position for bagger removal means no more crouching on my knees. The first cut of our 1.2 acre property dealing with six-inch grass was completed on one battery charge! The mower’s light weight means it can be spun around on its rear wheels at the end of each pass with two fingers. And it is quiet. I recommend this mower to everyone.
