Outstanding composter!
What an amazing tool! I have been a traditional composter for decades. Started out with a simple triple-bin design and graduated to spinning barrels about 20 years ago. I am an avid cook-from-scratch person, spending a lot of hours in my kitchen. Research on composting and appreciating the benefits as I grow organically in my vegetable garden, I came across this âmagicâ machine just recently.I have used it almost daily since my purchase and I am absolutely thrilled with the results. It couldnât be simpler to operate, compact design allows it to be ready for use quickly and easily, clean up is a breeze and the smell (I know how smelly a collection bucket can get) is actually quite pleasant if youâre into a mild, natural outdoorsy fragrance. The odor is really only noticeable when emptying the finished compost. I really like the size as it allows for daily or every other day use. The quality of the machine appears to be quite good, even though I am no engineer. Instructions for use and care are clear and concise. No real learning curve here. The simplicity is terrific for anyone to use. Wish I had found it a lot sooner. Thanks so much for marketing this product.

Works Well So Far
It’s been a month since I bought this, and I am having a similar experience to most of the reviews: quiet, odorless, and working. I have yet to use the cleaning mode because the bucket seems to have a good non-stick coating. I was worried that the composter would fill up quickly everyday with a household of five; however, it holds a large capacity. The manual provided is very useful in giving clear instructions of how to operate and what should/shouldn’t go into the composter. No issues, so far.

Quality composter but a couple of things you need to know
I love this kitchen composter. Iâve only gotten it this week and have used it twice on Crush and the end result was wonderful. Dry, small, perfect to work into potting mix or garden soil. No smell, unit is extremely quiet. Looks good in my kitchen and doesnât take up much room. It is very well made. Now, the CONS: the directions could be better. Itâs somewhat vague on what the blinking buttons might mean. So it is hard for me to understand how to troubleshoot. There isnât a YouTube tutorial by a user to help. The companyâs video doesnât help. Also, they are vague on where to get replacement charcoal filters for when the time comes. I think it says use a filter 4mm but that doesnât compute with generic filters when I looked. Also there are no directions on how to change the filter

Best kitchen appliance ever invented
This is better than I ever expected. We have a septic system so we do not have a garbage disposal. I clean out the refrigerator, food left on plates coffee grounds you name it. No more smelly garbage. Trips to the dump are less and it has cut my trash in half. Best money I ever spent

Why did you pick this product vs others?:It has great reviews and seemed small enough for my kitchen.I love to make compost and use it in my plants! My garden is way nicer this year and I think is the fact I can fertilize it with this compost. As well, I have less smelly trash and it feels good to re use it and not just throw it away!

Quaken hit a home run with this model composter.
After the first run crush, I would say this about the Ouaken 4l electric composter:1. Very sturdy and simplistic design;2. EXTREMELY quiet (versus our previous brand);3. Uncomplicated controls;4. Fantastic cleaning process and contained filter media.

Works way better than anticipated!! A ‘full’ bucket for me takes around 8 hours (never remember to accurately time it). I put in: egg shells, fruit and veg scraps (cut up bigger things like watermelon rind, lemons/orange peels), stale crackers/chips, coffee grounds, paper towel, meal leftovers, fridge leftovers that start to scare me.I have used it five times so far.Comes out as fluffy, dry ‘soil’ that I compile in a rubbermaid container, but, need to figure out how to use it in the garden without the dogs getting into it, though! 🙂 The first batch I threw into the garden, they hoovered up.The unit looks to be great quality, and is ‘good looking’.It is wayyy more quiet than I had expected, and love that very much, so it can run any time of day and not interfere with watching teevee, etc.I had a small concern when the bucket didn’t just slide in easily, as it had the first two times, so e-mailed customer service, to make sure there was nothing amiss, and received a reply very quickly. It was friendly and helpful. Was very impressed with this – thank you!Instruction booklet is great – clear, helpful.I like the larger capacity bucket, compared to some others, and the price point. Well worth the investment!! 10/10 would recommend this composter, and look forward to its continued use at limiting our garbage output (we live rural, so having an outdoor composter isn’t ideal with wildlife, never mind the effort and overall time it takes for it to break down), and we also have to take our garbage to the dump, so having less garbage to deal with/pay for is great).

Had a Lomi until it stopped working after a little over a year. The Ouaken composter is a lower price alternative to Lomi and with all the same features plus more. Includes a cleaning function that will be very useful after a period of use. So far the Ouaken has been working smoothly and flawlessly. Machine runs quieter. Viewing window on the lid is glass which is much nicer than plastic. The compost results are perfect and as expected. Iâm very pleased with the Ouaken!

I purchased this and used for a few weeks. Good size for small family. All in all it was good and reduced my kitchen waste to soil like waste. Smell is minimal. However, the end product is not compost for plants. I have backyard compost so I empty the contemt into my composter which takes months to turn to real compose. I had tried both the crush and fermentation options, but not really sure itmade much difference. It operated for hours overnight and turns off by itself. I both cases, end was coarse dehydrated scraps so it did reduced the size. The design of the inside container is flawed. There is a bolted on metal bracket on one side near the bottom and there is a fan shaped metal spinner at the bottom turning the food waste. I believe designer expected food scraps to be chopped up my it. I diced up everything before putting into the container. After 3 weeks of use, food are getting trapped under the metal bracket preventing the fan blades in the center from turning last night. End result was scratching the coating off around that area under and around the bracket. See my attached photos where I had poured out the ended scraps leaving some stuck under that bracket and showing the coating of the bucket gone.

I purchased this electric composter January 2, 2025 and I am still loving it! We don’t eat meat so I don’t know what it would be like when that is heating but with everything else I put in there, there is never a foul smell. I use the crush setting as I’m in an apartment and just wanted this machine for a clean and easy way to dispose of compost material. I use it pretty well daily and have never had an issue with it. I turn it on with the dishwasher and the kitchen is cleaned up in no time!! I don’t add anything to help the materials to break down and it’s always like powder when the cycle is complete. I would definitely recommend this and I have recommended it to numerous people that I know. I just wish I had purchased this earlier so if you’re thinking about purchasing, just do it, there will be no regrets.
