Good replacement for my old thermostat
This seems like a good replacement for my old thermostat, which was a White-Rodgers (Emerson). The old one started having battery corrosion and randomly fast cycling my AC unit. I have a heat pump system, so I had to be sure this new Emerson would work with it and it does. The instructions could be a lot clearer, but I figured it out. My suggestion is to take a photo of how your old thermostat is wired. Also if you have your old one’s instructions with diagram, you can mark it up with which connections correspond to the ones on the new thermostat. It worked out well doing that and helped eliminate confusion. So far the new Emerson thermostat is working fine. My only complaint is the very audible click it makes when it kicks the AC on. My old one didn’t seem this loud, but it’s only minor. I’m fine with it if it will last a long time.

    Works great and very adjustable.
It works great. I bought this one because you can set the temperature differential that others cannot. This is important because modern thermostats are so sensitive that the furnace runs a lot. They keep very accurate temperatures in the house, but at a cost of fuel efficiency. This helps a bit in this regard.I did have to adjust the displayed temperature because it was not in-sync with the thermostat, but that is why they allow you to adjust it.I ran a C wire so the light could be used to stay on constant and so the battery would last longer. This worked well. I left the light on for the first couple of days, but later change the setting so I could press the button to turn it on. I will use the on all the time feature, however, when I have guests because it doubles as a nightlight in the hallway.Programming for only two times per day was confusing at first because of the labels they use for the two times. It seems backwards. Once you figure that out, it was easy to set the programming. I did not need to set a change for 4 times, but it is able to do that. The display is large and the buttons make it easy to use.I purchased this thermostat instead of the smart ones because I do not trust anything connected to the network for controlling my house. They do have issues and safety is one of them. I like this one because it is programmable and simply works once it is configured. You set it and forget it.Another thing I like is that it does not have a touch screen. Many reviewers stated that touch screen thermostats all eventually die. I wanted to stick with buttons for reliability.

    Great thermostat
I got this as a replacement after sending the first replacement I received back (different model, different manufacturer). The directions are easy to follow if you are technically inclined at all. Programming was easy to follow also. This unit will hold the temperature right at the set point. If you need to make a temporary adjustment, just change the setpoint. It will hold for a few hours then go back on the regular schedule. We find this easy to use and does a great job. The only thing I can’t address is the longevity but expect it may well be the last thermostat I buy.
