I have tried several products for the seam leaks on my insulated patio covering. This is a good kit with the roller to press down more firmly on the tape. The tape is super sticky and tar like, wearing gloves is a must. Use the sponge, the area must be thoroughly cleaned. Simple enough to rolled out and cover the seams. Thereâs a little stretch, but seems durable. So far ok, will see how it goes when it rains. If it works and great value for me.

A great SEAM tape to seal specific roofing / waterproof membranes or liners.
These EPDM are very adhesive SEAM Tapes (not recommended to be used as Flashing). At first, I ordered this to determine if it was a good fit for sealing new rubber membranes onto my 10-degree sloped Florida Room roof. Wanted an exceptional seal so I decided to check out the commercial tape. The packaging this Seam tape came in directs me to use âEPDM Rubber Seal Primerâ to get an optimum bond, and the cheapest EPDM primer I could find online was about $50 a QUART (a gallon runs about $80). I donât HAVE to use a primer before applying this SEAM tape, but I decided I will not buy another 5 boxes of this tape and a gallon of primer to re-roof my Florida room.Research shows me that this tape usually has a ONE year shelf life, and should be installed where there is no foot traffic. Unfortunately, I am on my roof cleaning the gutter abutting the screened pool, and periodically checking the solar panels heating our swimming pool. My decision is to use shingle finish asphalt rolls with a generous overlap. I plan to use this SEAM tape along the roof edges covering the T-joints, and abut a Seam against the gutter side wall to prevent water leaks past the drip edge above the facia.Unfortunately, I cannot attest to the actual quality of this particular EPDM Seam tape as the tape itself is tightly wrapped in a plastic seal, I am unwilling to break just for an inspection. I will attest that the cleaning sponge/scouring pad it came with is fairly typical and inexpensive (think washing the dishes sponge), but the small roller is a good quality, strong and specialized tool that I am pleased to have.Note that from experience, these butyl adhesives are typically resistant to non-direct sun installation locations (a UV thing), non-extreme weather, water, water vapor, acidic or base solutions (at 5%) when washing sealed areas. I do not recommend using this tape in areas exposed to Petroleum and its distillates, grease, oil, solvents, vegetable oils, acidic or base materials usage, and animal fats.Used properly, I am confident this SEAM Tape will work as advertised. Remember the shelf life though, and store it inside a cool environment until use. Attached to this review is the install instructions on the box FYI.

This product, EPDM Rubber Roofing Seam Tape Kit, includes the following items:EPDM Rubber Roofing Seam Tape,1.968″ wide x 1.371″ diameter hand roller,3.825″ x 2.75″ x 1.2″ thick scrubbing/cleaning sponge,and instructions on the side of the box, as well as in picture and videos at the product listing.The EPDM Rubber Roofing Seam Tape measures near exactly 3″ wide at 3.004″ with a thickness of about 3/128″. This a commercial grade, certified and well engineered product designed to function well in all conditions and lasts a long time. This roll of double-sided roof seam tape weighs 40.79 oz, which is a bit more than 2½” lbs of tape.The included roller measures 7″ long with a roller size of 1.968″ wide x 1.371″ diameter. The handle is is 1″ square cross section instead of round and will provide a firm gripe when using the roller to press down on the material to flat and drive any air bubbles out. The inside of the handle is hollow and will allow it to be screw onto 3/4″ screen on handles or poles. All the material the handle consists of are very thick and sturdy. It will not bend, crack, or break easily.The included scrubbing/cleaning sponge has a very firm scrub pad with a thickness of 0.25″ or ¼”. It’s stiff for clean but not so rough that it’ll scratch or sand out material.Everything item included in the kit is of high quality and study material. The instructions and information about the kit and how to use it are very clearly written and organized. I can’t wait to use this kit when I re-do the roof. Highly recommended.

Effective but hard to work with
A little difficult to handle for a novice but it works great. Take some time to practice on a test piece and go slow. It is similar to a soft jelly between two release liners and easy to mess up. Clean both surfaces, apply one side slowly and peel back the other then lay the other side rover and roll it out.

Sticky,thin and easy to use
I’ve been having some leaking skylight issues with trying and using a multitude of different types of products to help seal it, when I came across this one I figured it was worth a try and could be used in conjunction with the other tape and sealants, I like that it’s a big roll,so a good quantity,it also came with roller device to smooth it out and on to the surface being used on,a sponge is also included in the box, the tape is easy to roll out,is black and reminds me of tar, it’s very thin,sticky and flexible, has stretch to it,it doesn’t look or feel like regular tape, the area being used on has to be cleaned well for it to have good adhesion,it was working pretty well for the first couple of weeks keeping a tight seal, but have started noticing slight leaking again with moisture,
