Great buy!
Weâve used a bowl for compost for a long time, so this was a great upgrade for us! It is well made, it has a charcoal filter which helps keep any odors down, it fits quite a bit in the canister and looks cute on my counter rather than a bowl of rotting food scraps. It was fairly priced and works great!

No More Stinky Garbage Bags
This is a cute little scrap “composter.” But it truly doesn’t “compost.” It holds organic scraps until you are ready to add them to your composter or take them out to the compost pile. Small in size, two people who like salads fill it in two days. The carbon filter does a good job – no smell. Fruit flies did appear though, perhaps because there is not a tight seal on the lid; it just sits on top of the rim of the inner bucket. I love the that the inner bucket comes out for toting and both it and the cute matte outside clean easily. The handle on the outer bucket does come down with a bang which could mar the surface, though. For one or two people households, it works well — no more stinky garbage bags!

Works just as I had hoped. The bucket is super easy to remove and lightweight. I filled it up in about 2-3 days so the food doesnât have time to sit in there for a long while, but while the lid is on I canât smell any of the food from the inside. And I put onions, coffee grounds, and some potent smelling things in there! Works much better than my metal bowl and is aesthetically more pleasing as well.

Loose lid poor sealing disappoints
Disappointed when I see the lid is ill fitting, no gasket loose! Stick to the stainless version that seals properly. Only went this route because of the plastic liner. Corrosive liquid does eventually eat through metal. However, the less than proper fitting lid doesnât make up for the design. Should just send it back packing!!!Donât bother buying it.

Good product
This countertop kitchen compost bin is practical and looks good. The capacity is the right size for me to temporarily collect my food waste until I dump them in my large drum composter outside the house for my vegetable garden. The inner plastic bucket is easy to clean. I have not sensed any smell from the bin and no fruit flies. I am happy with the purcase.

Lasted about a month.
Really liked the compost pot until the inner bucketâs handle fell off repeatedly and then we used it anyway and the plastic rim on the bucket fell off. The lid now doesnât fit and even by carrying the complete pot to the compost it is now useless. Within a day there are fruit flies everywhere in the kitchen after I washed it because the lid doesnât fit.I bought this as a replacement for an earlier one. At least that one lasted more than 6 weeks!Of course the return time was 30 days and it was almost 6 weeks since I got it.There is no way to reach the Finessy company and it is over the 30 days return time for Amazon. I canât even contact them to try to get the bucket replaced.
